Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three males following an aggravated home invasion in Box Hill North this morning.

It’s alleged four people forced entry to a property on Trawool Street just before 4.30am.

The group allegedly stole cash from the two occupants before fleeing.

There were no injuries.

Police responded and arrested a 17-year-old boy from the Wyndham area as well as two 18-year-old men from Point Cook and Altona North respectively.

Welcome to the first edition of the Booze Bus Weekly Round Up.

Between Monday the 31st of August to Sunday the 6th of September, our team were deployed around Melbourne, Geelong and regional Victoria.

During this period, Booze Bus operators detected a total of 18 drink driving offences, with multiple offenders detected in the Casey, Melton and Whitehorse areas.

Two notable readings of 0.141 and 0.139 resulted in drivers being banned on the spot from driving on our roads, with both to receive a summons to speak with a Magistrate in the near future.

Other drink driving offenders received either a Penalty Infringement Notice where eligible, or those with prior offences will be appearing before a Magistrate.

A further three drivers were detected for drug driving offences, with each driver returning positive oral fluid samples.

The team at Booze Bus can be anywhere at anytime, but we are also supported by local units such as Highway Patrol and Divisional Vans who also do great work in detecting drug and alcohol impaired drivers.

As the weather gets warmer, rest assured that drug and alcohol testing remains a priority to reduce road trauma and keep road users safe.

Police have arrested five males as part of an ongoing investigation into a to***co burglary in Clayton South and an aggravated home invasion in Box Hill earlier this year.

It is understood the aggravated home invasion occurred on Station Street on 31 July, while the burglary occurred at a storage facility on Centre Road on 8 August.

Today, detectives from the Eastern Region Crime Squad, with the assistance of the North West Metro Region Crime Squad, Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit and VIPER Taskforce executed search warrants in Tarneit, Altona North, Port Melbourne and Dandenong South.

During these warrants, detectives seized over 100,000 illicit ci******es and vapes, as well as weapons and a large quantity of cash.

Two men from Tarneit and one man from Officer were arrested about 6am on Burke Road in Hawthorn East.

The trio, aged 19, 20 and 42, were in possession of a machete, a hatchet and a knife at the time of their arrests.

Investigators also arrested a 30-year-old Bundoora man in Bundoora, and a 41-year-old Altona North man in Altona North.

The quintet will now be interviewed in relation to the incidents.

A 42-year-old Officer man has been charged with aggravated home invasion, burglary, possess controlled weapon and drive whilst disqualified.

He was remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

The investigation remains ongoing.
