The airport project threatening Sura is cancelled. Migratory birds now have a safe home. This victory involved a global effort. Greens Korea, other parties, and communities worldwide all contributed.

David Reid, and Joanna Somerville joined the Canada Bay Council team for the Spring Clean for Shorebirds at Bayview Park.

With Aidan Salvatore, Council’s Environmental Sustainability Officer, we focused on the small but damaging waste that harms local bird habitat. We picked up:
• Dozens of cigarette butts
• Hundreds of polystyrene balls
• Countless tiny pieces of plastic

These items are easy to overlook, but they cause real damage to shorebirds and their environment. Your actions make a difference too. Next time you visit the foreshore, take a bag with you and pick up a few pieces of rubbish. It helps keep the habitat safe for wildlife and clean for everyone.
