It was a great honour for us at Firefly RFS Brigade to join our community in Marching for our soldiers and assisting with the importance of traffic control, on Saturdays Anzac Day March at Krambach. It was wonderful to see so many supporters for our Anzacs, well done everyone that attended. And thank you to those that arranged the day and may it continue even greater next year. Stay safe everyone, Firefly RFS brigade.

🚒🔥🔥ATTENTION- Yes we have been busy. Due to the numerous fires in the area we recommend holding off any controlled pile burns and burn offs till the situations calm down and the dryness and wind at this time are more appropriate. Especially due to many of our brigade’s in the area working exhaustingly on other fires. 35 escaped burns on private land have been reported in the state since April 1st.
If a burn should become out of control, and it is important to call 000 immediately if they do, with limited brigades it may take more time for a fire truck to respond. Remember, The landowner is responsible for preventing a fire escaping their property. Before lighting up, ensure adequate fire brakes are in place and equipment is on hand to contain the burn. Must register with NSW RFS and notify your neighbours 24 hours prior. An important thing to note, prior to lighting, check the forecast weather conditions and especially the wind conditions. A gentle 18 km wind can intensify a mild fire when conditions are so dry. Stay safe everyone and help keep our community safe. Thanks Firefly RFS

Update: 4:50pm - Fire activity has eased slightly, with crews focusing their efforts on the northern flank along Woodlands Road near Bundacree Creek. Firefighters are making some progress in suppressing the blaze as it moves out of forested areas and into grassland. At this stage, no properties are under threat.

Advice: Woodlands Road, Nabiac (Mid-Coast LGA) - Monitor Conditions

Firefighters from the are working to slow the spread of the Woodlands Road fire, burning in an easterly direction between the M1 Pacific Motorway and Tuncurry. The fire has burnt out more than 70 hectares and is not yet controlled. The fire is highly visible from Tuncurry and Forster.

Southerly winds are expected to impact the fireground this afternoon and into the evening. This will see the fire and smoke move in a northerly direction towards Aerodrome Road and the Wallamba River.

Residents in the area are asked to monitor conditions, including those along Woodlands Road and Hillcrest Road.
