🖤💛❤️ National Reconciliation Week – All In

This week, staff and students from Findon Technical College attended the 2026 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast, hearing powerful reflections from guest speakers on their personal journeys and this year’s theme, "All In."

Back at school, the Tech College community gathered at the beautiful Findon High Yarning Circle to share what "All In," means to us and explore how we can walk together in a way that values, respects, and includes every member of our community.

A meaningful opportunity for connection, reflection, and learning as we continue our journey towards reconciliation.

Palms students recently visited the iconic Yitpi Yartapuultiku Cultural Centre, the soul of Port Adelaide, where they experienced its rich Aboriginal heritage.

Despite a few rain showers, students explored the Women’s space, taking in the magnificent views over the Port River. They also learned about the living shoreline and current rehabilitation work supporting the restoration of mangroves in the area.

A fantastic day of cultural learning, connection and exploration.

Yesterday, we broke ground on our new Active Regulation Zone. This initiative is a direct response to the work we completed last year with the Autism Inclusion Team. Our neurodivergent learners shared that movement is often one of the best ways to regulate and suggested the installation of nest swings as part of the space.

We can’t wait to share the finished product with our community over the coming days.

Ever wonder what our Wednesday morning professional learning looks like at Findon High School?

This week, staff had the opportunity to work alongside our amazing Flinders University Speech Pathology students to explore practical ways we can support vocabulary development across learning areas.

Through hands-on and interactive activities, staff unpacked strategies to help students build confidence with language, strengthen communication skills, and deepen their understanding of subject-specific vocabulary.

A huge thank you to the Speech Pathology team (the blue shirts) for sharing their expertise and helping us continue to grow our practice together.
