Today, a group of our Year 7 students visited Kidman Park Primary School to read the books they wrote and illustrated for Book Week to Foundation and Year 1 students.

It was an extra special visit for Tyler and Ajong, both Kidman Park Primary School old scholars, who were excited to return to their primary school and share what they are now learning at Findon. 💜

As part of the design process, our students sought feedback from Findon Technical Colleges Year 10 Early Childhood Education students to help ensure their books were engaging and created meaningful learning experiences for young readers.

A wonderful opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom and connect with our local community! 📖✨

Today our Education and Teaching Pathways students from Findon Technical College came together to celebrate Early Childhood Educators Day and recognise the important work of early childhood educators.

Our students are not only learning about the profession through their regular workplace learning, they are already practising educators, building relationships with children, learning alongside experienced educators and developing the skills and dispositions needed for the industry.

We celebrated with our Wellbeing Wednesday Crew activity followed by a shared morning tea. This was a chance to connect, reflect and celebrate the journey our students are on.

A big thank you to our students for the commitment they continue to show, and to our wonderful industry partners and educators who welcome, mentor and support them each week.

Book Week finished on an absolute high!

We welcomed some very special visitors from Emali Early Learning Centre, who became the perfect audience for our Year 7 students to share the books they had written and created.

Our Year 7s brought their stories to life through reading, illustrations and even puppets, putting their hard work to the ultimate test, would their young audience be engaged? Judging by the smiles, we think so!

A wonderful opportunity for our students to share their learning with an authentic audience and receive some very valuable feedback from our youngest critics!

Book Week meets Science Week!

Our Book Week celebrations also provided the perfect opportunity to continue the hands-on learning from Science Week, with our young visitors from Emali Early Learning Centre at Findon taking part in a range of STEM experiences created and facilitated by our Year 12 Child Studies and Year 10 ECE students.

There was plenty of exploring, experimenting and discovering, while our secondary students gained valuable real-world feedback on the learning experiences they had designed.

A huge shout-out to our Year 10 ECE students and staff for supporting this fantastic collaboration, and a very special thank you to Emali Early Learning Centre at Findon for continuing to partner with us and provide such meaningful learning opportunities for our students. 💜

We’re opening our doors to Year 10 and 11 students from ANY school to experience our Certificate III in Screen and Media – Game Art Design at one of our upcoming Come and Try Days!

Students will get hands-on with the creative and technical skills behind game development, including 3D modelling, animation, texturing, lighting, concept art, character creation, audio and interactive environments.

Yesterday we shared the students… now it’s time for the staff! 😂

It turns out our students aren’t the only ones who love an excuse to dress up. Our staff well and truly embraced Book Week Dress Up Day, bringing plenty of creativity and character to the Selfie Booth.

We LOVE Book Week at Findon High School — and we definitely love a good dress up day! 💜

Today our students and staff brought A Symphony of Stories to life with plenty of creativity, colour and some brilliant costumes.

🥁 The Palms absolutely rocked it, bringing their very own Palms Marching Band to the celebrations before heading over to Findon Technical College for a dance with our Early Education students! 🎶💃

From favourite book characters to marching bands and dancing, it was a pretty fantastic way to celebrate the stories that bring us together.
