Have you ever wanted to drive a heritage tram as a Motorman, helping passengers as a Conductor, or assisting visitors in our Museum Shop?

At the Brisbane Tramway Museum, volunteering is more than just giving your time - it's becoming part of a unique and passionate community dedicated to preserving Brisbane history.

Whether you're practical, hands-on, enjoy meeting people, have retail experience, or simply want to learn something new, we have a role for you. No previous experience is required - full training is provided.

We are open to the public on Sundays from 12:30pm to 4:00pm and operate on a flexible monthly roster. We're happy to work around your availability and commitments.

We are excited to unveil the new logo for the Brisbane Tramway Museum!

Our refreshed design honours the rich history and heritage of the museum while giving our brand a modern and vibrant new look for the future.

You’ll start seeing the new logo across our signage, publications, and social media in the coming weeks. We will also be launching a new range of merchandise incorporating the new design, including polo shirts, caps and stubby coolers - stay tuned!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Great Gatsby Picnic at the Brisbane Tramway Museum on Sunday 12 April. It was a fantastic day, with beautiful sunshine creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon.

The atmosphere was brought to life with wonderful entertainment from the Ipswich City Big Band and Electro Swiggety, keeping the 1920s spirit alive throughout the event.

We hope you enjoyed the historic tram rides (and vintage bus rides courtesy of our friends at the Brisbane Transport Museum), as well as the incredible display of classic cars on show Vintage Car Club of Queensland. It was wonderful to see so many people embracing the Gatsby theme, dressing up and truly getting into the spirit of the day.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was our Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Gentleman competition, expertly judged by Brisbane Broncos, Queensland Maroons and Australian Kangaroos legend, Trevor Gillmeister. The style and effort on display were outstanding, and made for a very tough decision!

A special thank you to all of our performers, volunteers, and organisers who helped make the event such a success.

We look forward to welcoming you all back for more memorable events in the future!

Not long until the Great Gatsby Picnic, this Sunday 12th of April from 11am-3pm at the Brisbane Tramway Museum 🚃

Dress up, bring a picnic and have a wonderful Sunday with us! Prizes for Best Dressed Lady & Gent were kindly provided by Brookside Shopping Centre Management and Mark Furner, Member for Ferny Grove & Steven Toomey, Councillor for The Gap Ward BCC.

Vintage tram rides, buses, music by the Ipswich City Big Band, followed by the fabulous Electro Swiggety 🎷🎺🎼, great fun for everyone.
