During active fire incidents, our brigade members and appliances may be deployed and actively working on the fireground.

Weโ€™ve recently received a number of calls to the brigade phone from community members seeking updates. When our crews are responding to incidents, we may not be available to answer the brigade phone or provide current information.

Yesterday was an incredibly busy and challenging day for firefighters across our region.

Our crews worked hard at the Plainland fire throughout the day before being diverted on their way back home to the station, to South Ripley last night to assist with another significant incident.

A huge thank you to all our fellow firefighters who worked tirelessly in difficult conditions, as well as Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance Service for their assistance and support on the firegrounds. The teamwork between crews and agencies was outstanding.

With everything happening yesterday, we didnโ€™t get the opportunity to wish all the dads in our community a Happy Fatherโ€™s Day.

For many emergency service volunteers, days like Fatherโ€™s Day can mean time away from their own families to help protect someone elseโ€™s.

One of our own Fernvale RFB dads spent his Fatherโ€™s Day on the fireground. We thank him, and all the dads who gave up time with their families yesterday to answer the call.

Happy Fatherโ€™s Day for yesterday, and thank you to everyone who worked so hard to keep our communities safe. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

Our crews often need to fly lower than the usual, which means they may be grounded if drones are operating in the area.

We know fires can look impressive from above, but please keep the skies clear so our aerial firefighting units can do what they do best.
