Last week, our talented public speakers proudly represented Fern Bay Public School at the Newcastle Zone Finals of the Hunter/Central Coast Public Speaking Competition. Students presented at Carrington Public School, Newcastle East Public School, Hunter School of the Performing Arts and Belair Public School. Each student spoke with courage, confidence and enthusiasm, representing our school with great pride. Reaching the zone finals was a wonderful achievement, and we are incredibly proud of them all. Congratulations!

💚💛 Happy Father’s Day 💛💚

Today we celebrate all the dads, grandads, stepdads, carers, father figures and special people who support, encourage and care for our students.

We also recognise that Father’s Day can look and feel different for every family, and we’re thinking of those for whom today may be a difficult day.

Wishing all the wonderful people in our Fern Bay Public School community a very Happy Father’s Day. 💚💛

🐾📚 A Special Visitor at Fern Bay PS! 💚💛

Today we were very lucky to have MaArli the therapy dog visit us! 🐶

MaArli spent time listening to some of our students read and even helped out with some of our learning. There were lots of smiles, plenty of pats and some very happy students!

Thank you, MaArli, for bringing such a calm and joyful presence to our school. We loved having you visit! 🐾💚💛

Today, our infants Aboriginal students attended the Newcastle Community of Schools Aboriginal Education Cultural Day at The Junction Primary School.

Students had a wonderful day making new friends, connecting with culture and taking part in a range of activities including weaving, sport, story telling and dance.

🔥🚒 Yesterday, we welcomed firefighters from Stockton Fire Station to our school!
Students learned about fire safety in the home, bushfires, and how firefighters keep themselves safe while responding to emergencies. They also had the opportunity to explore the fire truck and were very excited to see the powerful water hose in action!
A big thank you to the Stockton firefighters for sharing their knowledge and helping our students learn how to stay safe. 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒
