Our 9/10 Sport Education students recently had the opportunity to take part in three sessions with ParaQuad Association of Tasmania Inc.

Richard delivered the Body Safe program, encouraging students to think about risk-taking behaviours, spinal cord injury prevention and what life can be like following a spinal injury. Students then had the opportunity to take part in wheelchair basketball with Kat and wheelchair AFL with Trent.

These sessions provided valuable opportunities for students to develop understanding, empathy and appreciation for the experiences of others, while also highlighting the importance of resilience and inclusion.

A huge thank you to the ParaQuad team for sharing their knowledge and experiences with our students. We look forward to welcoming them back in Week 9 to work with our Year 7 and 8 students ๐Ÿ’™

Parent-Teacher 2026

Our mid-year parent-teacher meetings will be held on Monday 6 July and Tuesday 7 July from 3:30pmโ€“6:00pm.

Parent-teacher meetings provide a valuable opportunity for families to meet with teachers and discuss their child's progress, learning, attendance and wellbeing at school. We also greatly value the opportunity to connect with families, strengthen home-school partnerships and work together to support each student's success.

This year, we will be using a new online booking system, which we hope will make scheduling appointments with your child's teachers even easier.

Families will receive a booking link via EdSmart this afternoon, but appointments can also be made by scanning the QR code below or using the link in this post ๐Ÿ‘‡ (event code: vzgf6)

https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/code/vzgf6

If you require assistance with the booking process, or would prefer the school to make appointments on your behalf, please contact the school office for support.

We look forward to connecting with families over the two afternoons ๐Ÿ’™

Exciting additions to the School Farm ๐Ÿ„

Our Year 11 Ag students were on hand today to welcome the arrival of 10 Black Angus steers to the EHS farm as part of our Agricultural Program.

The steers have come from Scottsdale High School Tasmania, and weโ€™re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with another fantastic school farm. Partnerships like these provide valuable learning experiences for our students and strengthen connections across our school communities ๐Ÿ’™

Watch this space for more exciting collaborations with schools and ๏ฟผorganisations in the future!

Celebrating Attendance at EHS! โœจ

We're proud to share some positive attendance news!

Currently, EHS is on track to exceed our 2026 attendance targets, with year-to-date attendance higher than it was at the same time last year (84%). The proportion of students attending school 90% of the time or more has increased to 49%, up from 40% at the end of 2025. We're also pleased to see unauthorised absences decrease from 5.3% to 4.3%.

These improvements are a reflection of the efforts of our students, families and staff working together. Thank you to our families for keeping us informed when students are absent and for supporting positive attendance habits.

Student attendance rates are included in the mid-year reports coming home tomorrow. This is a great opportunity to celebrate positive attendance throughout the first half of the year and to set goals for maintaining or improving attendance during Terms 3 & 4.

Regular attendance helps students build strong relationships, stay connected to learning and make the most of the opportunities school provides. If your family would like support in building positive attendance routines, please reach out to us. We are here to work alongside you to ensure your child feels supported and connected at school ๐Ÿ’™
