Long weekend? No time for rest,
Our volunteers do what they do best.
Out on the water, training away,
So we’re ready to help when things don’t go your way.
Keeping skills sharp, come sun or rough weather,
Ready to respond whenever, wherever.

This afternoon, Evans Head 31 was tasked to assist a vessel experiencing mechanical issues.

A huge thank you to volunteer crew Bill, Kerry, Wayne and trainee Dan, along with Bill B, Greg and Terry in Radio Base, for their teamwork and dedication.

The vessel and its owners were safely returned to the boat ramp, with a very grateful crew back on shore.

Another great outcome thanks to our volunteers.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of taking part in the 2026 Brenda Armfield Street Parade as part of Casino Beef Week.

It was fantastic to see such a huge and welcoming crowd lining the streets of Casino, and enjoying the celebrations. This was our first year participating in the parade, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We look forward to building on this opportunity and returning even bigger and better next year.

If you spotted us during the parade and are interested in volunteering or learning more about what we do, send us a message, we’d love to hear from you!

💙 Supporting Our People 💙

We’re proud to share that our Unit Welfare & Support Officers, Stephen and Paul, have recently completed Mental Health First Aid training 👏

This important training strengthens their ability to support our members and their families through a range of challenges including mental health, physical health concerns, grief and bereavement, and broader social and emotional needs.

Stephen and Paul are here to listen, support, and connect people with the right help when it’s needed most.

Our people are our priority 💙

On Saturday, our volunteers had the privilege of meeting with the Evans Head Parkinson’s Support Group during training, where we were honoured to receive a certificate of appreciation in recognition of our support during their Parkinson’s awareness events.

We sincerely thank the group for their kind words and ongoing commitment to raising awareness and supporting those living with Parkinson’s disease within our community.

It was wonderful to spend time together and strengthen the valuable community connections that make Evans Head such a special place. Marine Rescue Evans Head is proud to continue supporting local organisations and events both on and off the water, and we thank the Evans Head Parkinson’s Support Group and everyone involved for their support and partnership as we look forward to continuing this important community connection into the future.

We stand alongside our fellow volunteers at Marine Rescue Ballina with heavy hearts.

Our thoughts, deepest condolences and unwavering support are with the families, friends and all members of the unit following the tragic loss of two respected crew members.

In times like these, the entire Marine Rescue family feels the loss together. These volunteers dedicated themselves to protecting others on the water, serving their community with courage, commitment and selflessness. Their contribution and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

From all of us at Marine Rescue Evans Head, we extend our love and support to every member of the Ballina unit and the wider Marine Rescue community during this incredibly difficult time.⚓💙

☀️ Training Day at Marine Rescue Evans Head ☀️

What a great day on the water, with the glorious sunshine making a welcome appearance just in time for training.

Today our crew focused on essential skills including docking, anchoring, and vessel preparation, all part of keeping our team sharp and ready to respond when it matters most.

We’re also gearing up for an activity early next week… 👀
Stay tuned to see what we’re up to next!
