KAMBARANG Season in Kepa Kurl | October - November

The Moodjar (WA Christmas Tree) signals the arrival of Kambarang. The yellow wildflowers from Djilba are joined with a vibrant array of coloured wildflowers across the landscape.

The Koolbardi (Magpie) can often be seen closely guarding its newly hatched young, making them particularly protective and active.

With the warming weather, reptiles such as Noorn (snake) and Yoorn (Bobtail) emerge from their seasonal hibernation.

Mental Health Month | October 2026

This year's theme, "Together We Thrive".

Whether it's taking a walk, completing a hike, or spending time enjoying art, small actions can make a positive difference to your mental wellbeing. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities throughout this Mental Health Month.

This Friday, head to the Esperance Museum's lawn for the Mental Health Pop-Up Café and, while you're there, join the celebrations for the Esperance Museum’s 50th Anniversary.

If art is more your style, visit the Cannery Arts Centre to explore Tammy Andrews' exhibition, Love in Longreach, or get involved in their community garden event, Gather and Grow.

Take sometime this month to slow down, connect, and prioritise your mental health.💚
