This New Year 2013 marked the launch of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Australia, with 13 members spread across most major cities of Australia. Aam Aadmi Party, commonly known as AAP in India, is a political movement full of potential, good intentions and ground level hard work. AAP wants to create a system where the elected political representatives are directly answerable to the voters who elected the

m, contrary to the current system where they obey their party’s high command. The vision of AAP is to realise the dream of SWARAJ that Gandhiji had envisaged for a free India – where the power of governance and rights of democracy is in the hands of the people of India. The party aims to be different from all the other, current political parties – with no high command system, strict internal code of conduct for its workers and candidates and promises to kill the regressive VIP culture from India. They would be monitored strictly by an internal janlokpal (ombudsman) and would not be entitled to exorbitant perks, paid by poor and hardworking Indian tax-payers, for their obvious duties as public servants. The National Executive of AAP India has 23 members including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas, Prashant Bhushan, Gopal Rai among many others. All the National Executive members enjoy immense public trust and confidence. They are ordinary people out there to fight and change the system of organised corruption that starts from politics and has spread its way into governance at all levels. On international level, AAP has recently opened its offices in all major countries of the world including US, UK, Singapore, HongKong. In many other countries, the work of organising volunteers is underway. This is quite impressive, as the mother organisation – Aam Aadmi Party in India – is just a few months old. AAP has taken up a mammoth task without the corresponding tools of muscle power and money power. It needs your help in achieving this formidable and enormous task. AAP Australia invites all well wishers of India, to become active members of AAP. We need groups, associations, NGOs, other organisations & individuals to work towards education & awareness, expanding membership and for raising much needed funds towards this long overdue political movement for our beloved motherland. We are also looking for expanding our current teams and need new volunteers in all Australian cities. Please volunteer or nominate someone for this noble cause. For information or to volunteer in AAP activities.

📢 *Voices of Solidarity from Melbourne 🌏 | A Stand Against the Arrest of AAP Leaders in Delhi* 🇮🇳 |

Today, on 7th April 2024, we, the members of AAP Australia, gathered at Federation Square to voice our concern over the use of democratic institutions for political gain. As we stand united in support of democracy and against the intimidation of opposition parties, our message is clear: Democracy thrives on diversity of opinions, not their suppression.

Here’s a glimpse of heartfelt interviews with those who stand with us, reflecting the collective call for integrity and democracy. Let’s keep the spirit of democracy alive.
