These diggers don't rust.

6RAR soldiers recently conducted Hawkei and PMV vehicle operator training to enhance mobility, capability, and operational readiness across the battalion.

The training focused on vehicle handling, convoy procedures, platform familiarisation, and operating within realistic field environments to ensure soldiers remain prepared to deploy and operate effectively across a range of scenarios.

Maintaining proficiency on protected mobility platforms such as the Hawkei and PMV is critical to ensuring the battalion remains adaptable, capable, and battle-ready.

6 Platoon, Bravo Company conducting TALO rehearsals alongside the Royal Australian Air Force — refining drills, sharpening coordination, and reinforcing rapid response capability.
Every repetition, movement, and communication check strengthens the platoon’s ability to deploy, adapt, and fight as a cohesive force under pressure.
Battleready is not a switch that gets flipped on the day — it is built through discipline, rehearsals, and relentless standards long before first contact.

Fighting Fridays—locked in and ready for the grind. Standards high, no one falling out. It’s grit over comfort, discipline over doubt. When the legs are gone and the lungs are burning, that’s where it counts—push harder, dig deeper, stay in the fight.

Soldiers from 6RAR recently conducted training on the new F9 weapon system, enhancing individual lethality and building familiarity with its capabilities.
The training reinforced marksmanship fundamentals and refined the effective employment of the system through live-fire practices.
This marks another step in ensuring 6RAR remains a capable and professional fighting force.

Today, on ANZAC Day, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice and enduring spirit of all Australians and New Zealanders who have served our nations in war, conflict and peacekeeping operations.

For the soldiers of 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, ANZAC Day is a reminder that we carry forward the legacy of those who came before us. Their values of mateship, resilience and service continue to guide us in everything we do.

Rain was never going to deter an Infantry Battalion, and we thank all families, friends and supporters who braved the weather to line the streets and attend today’s march in the city.

We honour those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, recognise all who have served, and acknowledge the families who have stood beside them.

Lest We Forget.

Throughout March, our very own Infantry soldier PTE Hamilton from Charlie Company represented 6RAR as part of the ADF Women’s Touch team during their tour to New Zealand, competing against sides from the New Zealand Army, Air Force, Navy, and Police.
The team achieved an outstanding result, securing the overall tournament win, and were further honoured with the opportunity to play a Trans-Tasman match against a combined NZDF side to conclude the tour.
Beyond the results, the tour provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with our NZDF counterparts. The level of sportsmanship and hospitality extended to the team was exceptional.

🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺 Welcome and Farewell!

On Friday, the Battalion conducted a change of command ceremony to farewell Lieutenant Colonel Ed Cousins, and welcome Lieutenant Colonel Em Mordike.

Lieutenant Colonel Cousins spoke about the Battalion’s transformation over the last two years; from one expert in mechanised operations, to one which is demonstrably light, rapidly deployable and PMV-enabled. He said this transformation, which included the development of an Air-Land capability, was made possible through the hard work of our exceptional people, and their commitment to our most storied Battalion.

Lieutenant Colonel Mordike acknowledged the Battalion’s hard work and commitment to the mission, and spoke about the Battalion’s incredibly bright future.
