We’re a Papercrafting group based in NE Melbourne and we love all things paper! Meetings 1-4 pm, 1st Saturday of the month @ Eltham Senior Citizens Centre.

We are based in Eltham in North-Eastern Melbourne. We meet on the first Saturday of every month between 1 and 4pm to create and share our love of paper-crafting. It does not matter if you love making cards, scrapbooking, paper tole, quill

ing, or any other form of creating with paper, we welcome you to join us. Beginners are welcome too, we love to share what we know. BYO project - this isn't a class, but we do often have someone willing to do an impromptu demonstration or two. You don't need to tell us you are coming, but if you are new, ask for Michelle.

It is with a sad heart that I must announce that until further notice our crafty gatherings are on hold.

Lockdown and other restrictions took its toll and put me in a position where I cannot continue to hire the hall.

So, if coming to crafty gatherings is of interest to you, please message me. If there is enough interest, I am happy to start the group meetings up again.

Hello fellow paper crafting friends,

I am posting today because I have had some news. Some of it good, some of it not good (in my opinion).

The Community Facilities team sent me an email letting me know that the hall was going to be available for use again from Monday. Of course, this isn’t in time for our November gathering, but there is more.

I have been informed that only fully vacc1nat3d people willl be permitted use of the facilities.

Regardless of your individual choices or views on whether to get jabbed or not, what I am about to say, in essence has little relationship to individuals and their medical choices. It IS about my principles and what I am and am NOT prepared to do.

I like to think that I am fair, that I am welcoming and that I don’t discriminate against anyone. To me, the vacc1n3 passp0rts are a form of medical aparth31d and as such, I am opposed to these measures.

So, I am left with an impossible choice. One that will cause me to betray the fundamental beliefs that I hold dear, the other will deny myself (and in turn deny you) the happiness of being able to return to in person crafting time together. The only other alternative to these choices will leave me open to outrageously heavy fines.

So it is with a heavy heart that I must inform you, that until further notice, I will not be holding Diamond Valley Paper Crafters meetings, as I cannot reconcile myself with the task of asking anyone for their ‘papers’, nor will I discriminate against anyone by refusing them entry into our group. This is not something I can live with.

I hope that you are understanding of my choice and to reiterate, this is not an anti-vax stance and has nothing to do with your individual views or choice on whether to be vacc1nat3ed or not. I have no opinion on your personal medical decisions.

As soon as we are all welcome, unreservedly, and without prejudice, I will start meetings up again.

Well, I have confirmation that the Eltham Senior Citz is open for business again which means that our Crafty Gathering will happen this Saturday 1-4pm!

Obviously the usual COVID restrictions apply and I will not be providing community food and drink.

I would love to see you there.

As a courtesy, and to ensure that the numbers per m2 is adhered to, I would appreciate it if you would PM me and let me know that you will be coming.

The cost is still only $5.

Calling all paper crafters!

Feel like being creative today? Maybe you need some crafting inspiration?

Well, I have the perfect activity for you. Come and join us at the Diamond Valley Paper Crafters Crafty Gathering for May!

It starts at 1pm today and goes until 4pm. It costs a mere $5. BYO crafting supplies and project (we need to make sure we keep supply sharing to an absolute minimum until covid restrictions cease). Don't worry if you don't have anything specific in mind to make....most of us kinda 'wing it' on the day.

Covid restrictions require that I not provide communal tea/coffee, but if you have a mug and some drink ingredients you can bring, there is an urn that always has boiling water ready to go.

I haven't yet decided what I am going to make today....but I do have a heap of new supplies to work with from the new SU catalogue, so I guess I will start there!

I hope you will join us!

Great News!

We have been given the 'go ahead' to run our Crafty Gathering for February!!!

Come along and join us at the Eltham Senior Citizen's Centre, Library Place, Eltham (just behind the war memorial in Main Rd)

There are a couple of changes that we have to make due to the current restrictions.

Please bring your own Mug and Tea/Coffee and anything else you wish to consume while you are crafting. There will be no shared food.

As always, but especially right now, please BYO all your own supplies.

I will be required to register the name and phone number of everyone who comes along, and we will be required to conform to the current mask wearing restrictions as well.

Other than that....I can have 30 people in the hall which should be sufficient 😀

Well the Covid Safe plan is in, but it needs approval. With everyone on holidays at the moment, that is not going to arrive in the next day....bummer. SO......our first crafty gathering looks like it will be Feb 6th. Keeping fingers crossed.

Covid-19

Hello Crafty Friends,

I know that we are all keen to get back to our Crafty Gatherings, but at this stage, the Nillumbik Council has not opened any of their community halls yet. Until that happens, I am unable to run DVPC. I assure you, as soon as it is practical, I will let you know when we are able to return to having our Gatherings on the first Saturday of each month.

Until then, I hope that you are all finding time to get creative at home or within the guidelines that we are being given by the Victorian Govt.

I probably don‘t need to tell you all this, but just in case you were wondering, the April Crafty Gathering has been cancelled.

Please stay safe and look after your loved ones and let’s do all do what we can to flatten the curve - stay at home where possible.
