Calavos Rural Fire Brigade

Calavos Rural Fire Brigade Calavos Rural Fire Brigade is located just outside the little city of Bundaberg. The Brigade is managed and operated solely by volunteers.

The Brigade is managed and operated solely by volunteers, committed to serving and protecting their community. Queensland Rural Fire Brigades are a part of the QFES family. The primary responsibility of the Rural Brigades is to manage and respond to bushfire threats in the community. This is all done by volunteers. We also play a massive role in supporting Urban operations across the state, in Roa

d accidents, Structural Fires as well as Floods and other incidents. All funds to operate come from local contributions. We are locals, for the locals.

We just want to thank all the Dad's that are part of our Brigade and wish them all a happy father's day

While many dads were spending Father’s Day with their family, these Rural Fire Service Queensland volunteers (all dads) were busy answering the call 🔥

Three local brigades came together to respond to a bushfire at Yabulu, one of multiple across the state on Sunday, working side-by-side to extinguish the blaze.

A big thank you to all the volunteers, as well as our Queensland Fire and Rescue firefighters and staff in our Fire Communications Centres, who have spent their Father’s Day helping to keep Queensland communities safe.

The increased fire activity across the state is a good reminder to know your bushfire risk and have a Bushfire Survival Plan in place.

If you’re flying a drone near a bushfire, that means our aircraft can’t.

Our crews often need to fly lower than the usual, which means they may be grounded if drones are operating in the area.

We know fires can look impressive from above, but please keep the skies clear so our aerial firefighting units can do what they do best.
