This week, four exceptional students advanced to compete in the Local Area Final of the 2026 Regional South Operational Directorate Public Speaking Competition.

Amelia, Harry, Parker, and Olivia each achieved a victory in both their class and Stage competitions before representing our school at Spring Farm Public School against winners from other local schools. Throughout the competition, they delivered both prepared and impromptu speeches in each round.

We are extremely proud of their accomplishments. To conclude a successful day, Harry and Olivia were declared winners and will progress to the Grand Final of the competition in November.

All of our students had a fantastic day! 🎉 They started the morning with puzzles and riddles, and then took on the main challenge, designing and building their very own theme park ride! 🎢

Working within a $30,000 budget, students had to purchase their materials from the ‘store’ and consider the type of energy needed to power their ride.

There were definitely some sweaty brains by the end of the day, but so much creativity, teamwork, and learning on display! 🧠💡

Great job, everyone! 👏

1P - In maths we have been playing a number sense game 3 tens in a line. One of Mrs Paddock's favourite maths game.

Students are practicing their addition skills and learn which numbers make 10.

The game is played on a grid, similar to tic-tac-toe.

The goal is to be able to write 2 numbers in each box that combine to make 10.

1P - We are learning to use a comma in our writing. Commas can be used in lots of ways, like to separate ideas, make lists or even when using quotation marks.

As we have celebrated School Support Staff Recognition Week, this week, we wanted to take a moment to honour and appreciate the incredible work of our Admin, SLSO, GA and Cleaning teams.

Their dedication, kindness, and unwavering support make our school a better place every single day.

Here’s a special poem to celebrate these amazing members of our school family.

Students in 5/6S have been actively exploring 2D shapes, learning how to translate, reflect, and rotate to discover more about geometry. They dissected and rearranged shapes, showing how translations, reflections, and rotations change the position and orientation—but not the size—of shapes! 🟦🔄✨

This week, we also focused on calculating the area of a parallelogram. Students used subdivision and rearrangement to transform a parallelogram into a rectangle—making it easier to find its area. They recorded their methods in words, showing their understanding of how the area of any parallelogram can be calculated. 📏✏️

It’s inspiring to see students making connections and using mathematical language as they work together creatively!

🌞 2F have been making the most of the sunshine this week with outdoor maths lessons! We measured to see if 1 metre of $1 coins or 0.5 metres of $2 coins would make a better carnival prize, and got creative drawing animals on the pathway - actual size, smaller, and larger! Such great teamwork and enthusiasm from everyone. Well done, 2F! 🪙✏️🐾

What an incredible Book Parade we had last week! 📚✨

There was so much fun and excitement, with fantastic costumes everywhere you looked. It was amazing to see everyone getting involved—students, staff, and our wonderful community!

Thank you for making it a magical day full of creativity and laughter. Can’t wait for next year! 🎉👒🦸‍♂️👑

K‑6B have demonstrated strong engagement throughout all literacy and numeracy sessions this week. Students participated actively in grade‑appropriate learning with their teachers and completed independent tasks designed to strengthen their social development and coordination skills.

The class has focused on consolidating multiplication strategies and refining their narrative writing. The boys have approached these learning goals with maturity, persistence, and a commendable level of focus.

We are especially proud of the way the students have united as a supportive learning community. They consistently encourage one another, collaborate effectively, and celebrate both individual and collective achievements.
