Good news! The timber footbridge under the old Echuca-Moama Bridge is now back open after repair works were completed this morning.

You may notice the new blue gum timber looks different to the existing boards. Over time, exposure to the weather and sunlight will help it naturally age and blend in with the rest of the walkway.

🏆 Echuca named Victoria's Top Tourism Town for 2026! 🏆

🎉We're thrilled to celebrate Echuca taking out Gold at the Victoria Tourism Industry Council - VTIC Top Tourism Town Awards, earning the title of Victoria's Top Tourism Town 2026.

Adding to the success, Rochester was recognised as a finalist in the Small Tourism Town category, showcasing the strength and appeal of destinations across Campaspe Shire.

This achievement belongs to our tourism operators, local businesses, event organisers, volunteers and communities who help make our region such a fantastic place to visit and explore.

Shout out also to our colleagues and tourism partners across the river in Moama. The strength of Echuca Moama as a destination comes from our ongoing cross-border collaboration with our colleagues at Murray River Council and our shared commitment to showcasing the region.

Next stop: Canberra - where Echuca will represent Victoria at the National Top Tourism Town Awards in September. 🎉

✨ Festive Grants – Closing this Sunday, 16 August
Up to $2,500 for events, activities, workshops, decorations and celebrations that connect communities. Whether you’re planning a Christmas gathering, Diwali celebration, Easter egg hunt or something unique to your community, we’d love to hear from you.

⚽ Community Grants Round Three - Closing 22 August!
Four grant streams available - Events & Tourism, Inclusive Communities, Junior Development, and Equipment Grants.

🏛️ Milestone Celebration Grants – Funding for significant community celebrations that recognise local history, culture, achievements, landmarks or people of importance. Milestone Celebration Grants remain open until funding is exhausted.

Keep an eye out for your 2026-27 Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) voucher! 👀

📬 If you receive your rates notice by mail: your RRC voucher will be included with your rates notice.

📧 If you receive your rates notice by email: your RRC voucher will still be sent to your postal address.

🏠 If you're a tenant: contact your property manager to see if the voucher can be forwarded to you for use.

This year's voucher is now worth $70 and can be used for materials that can be diverted from landfill and recycled, but would otherwise attract a disposal fee.

The voucher can be used for:

✅ Garden organics
✅ Refrigerators and air conditioners
✅ Mattresses
✅ Clean fill soil (Echuca RRC only)
✅ Concrete, bricks and tiles (Echuca and Mt Scobie RRCs only)
✅ Tyres
✅ Couches
✅ Empty LPG gas bottles up to 9kg
✅ Fire extinguishers

💡 Top tip: Keep your voucher handy. It includes details about what is covered by the voucher, as well as items that can be dropped off free of charge.

If your bin has not been serviced, please leave it out at the kerb. Crews will get to your bin as soon as possible – later today or tomorrow.
