🔍 Local History Mystery — Can You Help?
We’ve come across something intriguing and need your help to uncover the story behind it…

These silver‑plated rings were gifted to the Friends of G. O. Edwards Park by George Oswell Edwards himself. Each ring features a detailed coat of arms with peacock feathers, along with a ribbon displaying the motto “En Avant” (“Forward”). Also included are the initials “L.H.S.” and the date 1957.
Inside the band is a maker’s mark: “AI” in a circle and the inscription
“Imperial E.P.N.S. – A Phoenix Product.”

✨ But what do the coat of arms and the initials represent?
Were they linked to a school, organisation, or family connection?

If you recognise these symbols or have any ideas, we’d love to hear from you.
