📢 🚫 A Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban (HVMB) has been declared for the Shire of Murray for Monday 2 February 2026, between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm throughout the whole district.

This ban is in conjunction with a Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA declared Total Fire Ban for the whole district.

Please note that the Dwellingup Town Oval will be utilised for refueling Helicopters which are working in the area supporting fire crews on the ground as this is a central and safe location point.

There is no imminent danger to the Dwellingup townsite, we have a small contained fire on Pinjarra Williams Rd which DPAW are monitoring.

Restricted burning time commences at 00.00hrs Wednesday 1 October, 2025.

Please note:
⚠️ Burning is prohibited on days where the Fire Danger Rating is high or above, or if a Total Fire Ban (TFB) or Harvest Vehicle Movement Ban (HVMB) is declared.
⚠️ Before any burning, please advise your Permit Issuing Officer and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services' Communication Centre. 👇

As delegated by the Council of the Shire of Murray to the Shire President and the Chief Bush Fire Control Officer, this extension is effective from 00:00 hours on Friday, 16 May 2025, until 23:59 hours on Thursday, 29 May 2025.

Permits to burn will remain required during this time.

Prepare, Take Care, Be Aware 🔥

Here are some tips and tricks to navigate restricted burning times like a pro 👇😎

Gas and electric BBQs 👇
✅ Allowed

Solid fuel BBQs and garden fire pits (e.g. Webers, spit roasts, pizza ovens) 👇
❌Banned when Fire Danger is high or during a Total Fire Ban (TFB).
✅Allowed other times if spark-proof and in a 3m fuel-free zone.

Burning garden waste or rubbish (including incinerators):
❌ Prohibited on land smaller than 4,000 sqm or during High Fire Danger or TFB.
✅ Permitted on land larger than 4,000 sqm when fire danger is Low or Moderate.

✅ Permits are required for any fires (excluding 1x1 meter fires) from 6:00pm - 11:00pm.
