🚒 Hunter Area Championship Update

After two days of intense competition it is with great pride that we announce that after winning 3 or the 5 categories and coming 3rd in another, Vacy Brigade has Won the Championship 🥇

Vacy’s effort, hard work, communication and teamwork is to be commended. With many skilled teams participating it was a close finish of the top four teams.

It was a lucky escape early this morning for a family who woke to discover a fire burning in their garage.

Firefighters from the and FRNSW arrived quickly, with crews from Galston and Arcadia extinguishing the fire, which is believed to have been caused by an electric vehicle charger.

While there were no smoke alarms in the garage, a working smoke alarm in the hallway activated, allowing the family time to safely evacuate and giving firefighters a chance to extinguish the fire before it spread further into the home.

Remember it's important you have multiple smoke alarms installed throughout your home, particularly in areas where combustible materials may be present.

Last night Dungog RFS held their AGM to elect administrative staff.
Congratulations to all officer bearers on your appointments & thank you to all outgoing members for their effort.
Congratulations to Marina secretary, Calvin, President, Joan, treasurer. Permit Officers, Heidi & Matt were retained as last year.
After the meetings were completed Dennis Wamsley, Operational Officer, Lower Hunter along with Group 4 Andrew Bennett presented members with the NSW Premier’s Flood Emergency Citation on behalf of Chris Minns MP, JihadDib MP & Mike Wassing AFSM.
Congratulations to you all on your selfless contribution.
