Today we rolled up our sleeves, grabbed the bread, and proudly celebrated World Vegemite Day at our centre — because nothing says “Aussie childhood” quite like that iconic salty spread.

From making Vegemite sandwiches, to painting with Vegemite, to taste‑testing (with reactions ranging from “YUM!” to “I’m not so sure about this…”), our children threw themselves into the fun with all the enthusiasm you’d expect from true little Vegemite legends.

Sticky fingers, salty smiles, creative masterpieces, and lots of giggles — it was the perfect kind of Carlton House fun!

🐸✨ WOW Encounters at Carlton House! ✨🦎

Today we had the wonderful Bailey from WOW Encounters visit us — and what a day it turned out to be! Our little explorers got up close with frogs and lizards, chatting about where they live, what they munch on, and why these amazing creatures play such an important role in keeping our ecosystems healthy.

And then… the snakes came out! 🐍
Bailey guided the children through snake safety with so much care, helping them understand what to do if they ever spot one in the wild. His friendly snakes were a hit, and the children were fascinated by their cool, textured skin.

Curiosity, courage, and lots of giggles — what an exciting day of learning and discovery.

We are on the hunt for stall holders for a upcoming Winter Carnival Market we are hosting.

We are looking for:
🔸Food Stalls - Including coffee van, hot food vendors, Ice cream van.
🔸Face Painting or balloon twisting
🔸Homemade baked goods, jams and relish.
🔸Handmade Items - ANYTHING HANDMADE! 🩷
🔸Local businesses that would like to advertise their services.

🔴 Stalls are FREE of charge. We have 3x3 sites available. Stall holders will need to provide their own tables, chair and gazebo. Sites are not powered.

✨ Troppo Magic brought the magic today! ✨

Carlton House was absolutely buzzing as Troppo Bob popped in with his bag of tricks — all made from everyday recyclable bits and bobs.

In true Troppo Bob fashion, he turned a simple glove into a wiggly fish, showed us how fruit scraps can have a second life, and even made recyclable plastic do things we’re still trying to figure out… all with a sprinkle of magic and a whole lot of silliness.

There were belly laughs, high‑fives flying everywhere, and smiles so big they could power the whole centre.

What a brilliant, joy‑filled day of learning, laughing, and a little bit of eco‑magic.

Miss Chris popping in — your proudly caffeinated, ever‑enthusiastic Director of Carlton House! ☕💛

Today I get to share some seriously exciting news, and yes… I’m absolutely bursting at the seams about it.

Over the past 12 months, our incredible Educators have poured their hearts, creativity, and energy into making Carlton House a place where children, families, and our whole community feel a true sense of belonging. Recently, we asked our families for feedback — and the results are officially in.

We’ve hit a brand‑new record of 92% positive feedback from our families!

Ninety. Two. Percent.
I’m still doing a happy dance.

Hard work really does pay off, and I could not be prouder of this phenomenal team who show up every day with passion, kindness, and commitment to our children.

I spy with my little eye something colourful and amazing in our yard.

A huge thank you to the team at Southern X Constructions and Canobolas Canvas for our wonderful new shade cloths in our front yard. Our children, team and families love the new look of Carlton House.
