We are thrilled to share that we have just received new road crash rescue gear from WEBER RESCUE SYSTEMS , thanks to the support from our amazing community, VRA Rescue NSW, and InterFire Agencies.

These new battery powered hydraulic tools complement with our existing Milwaukee battery gear, are going to make a real difference in our rescue work.

With these hydraulic spreaders, shears, and a telescopic ram, it helps us safely free people trapped in vehicles with a precise and controlled intervention, whether it is opening a jammed door, cutting through metal, or creating additional space to get someone out.

These tools also include a cutting edge technology Smart-Force app, which helps us to track maintenance, record usage, and support safe, controlled training for our volunteers.

We would also want to thank you InterFire Agencies for sending a representative to show us how everything works and helped our team get familiar with the gear.

We are so grateful for all the support that makes this possible. With this new equipment, our volunteers are even better prepared to help anyone in need, right here in NSW!

Last weekend, members from VRA Rescue NSW SRG Metro attended the NSW Road Crash Rescue Challenge at Dubbo Regional Council - Showground

Hosted by the Firefighter Championships Association (FCA) and supported by Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW SES, the challenge brought together emergency service personnel and rescue professionals from across the state to develop and showcase road crash rescue capabilities.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for our newer members to get hands-on experience performing technical cuts and casualty removals under the supervision of vendor technical advisors. It was a valuable learning experience that showcased the diversity of rescue work our service undertakes and helped build practical skills ahead of their upcoming RCR course.

A huge thank you to the organisers, advisors and all involved in delivering such a professional and supportive learning environment. Our members came away having learnt a lot, gained confidence and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

SRG Sydney was also proud to be part of the 2026 AFL Giants Super Helpful Game at Sydney Olympic Park alongside a range of emergency service organisations.

Throughout the day, our volunteers welcomed fans to our display, showcasing rescue equipment, vehicles and the capabilities used to support communities across NSW. Events like these are a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, support important causes and highlight the important role volunteers and emergency services play across the state.

A special highlight of the day was seeing Thomas and his dog Tammy take part in delivering the game ball out to the players.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand and supported all agencies involved throughout the day. We loved being part of such a great community event.
