Jocelyn has been an early childhood educator for over 10 years and has been with Dubbo Family Day Care since she established her Family Day Care service, Lonsdale Playcare, in 2020. 👶👧👦

Dubbo Family Day Care educator Jocelyn McKay has been announced as one of the NSW Regional Winners in the 2025 Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) Excellence Awards 🏆

Jocelyn has been an early childhood educator for over 10 years and has been with Dubbo Family Day Care since 2020 when she established her Family Day Care service, Lonsdale Playcare.

Dubbo Family Day Care is operated by Dubbo Regional Council. Dubbo Family Day Care aims to provide an affordable and flexible childcare service of the highest quality that allows every child to grow and develop to their fullest potential within a safe family environment.

As a 2025 Regional Winner, Jocelyn is now in the running to be named as a 2025 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards National Finalist 👏

Hi All,

Please be advised of the following road works that will impact access options to Dubbo Family Day Care.
During the period of road works the closest access to parking for Dubbo Family Day Care is available in Victoria Park Number One oval through the gates located in Darling Street.

🚗 VICTORIA LANE ROAD RECONSTRUCTION 🚗

Road pavement reconstruction works will begin on Victoria Lane in Dubbo today, Wednesday 26 February 2025.

The area of works will be on the section of lane between the Western Plains Cultural Centre carpark and Victoria Park No. 2 Oval.

This portion of laneway will be closed for approximately six weeks, weather permitting.

Works include a total concrete upgrade of the road pavement and new fencing.

Vehicle detours will be in place. Pedestrian access will be maintained in the area via the usual walking paths.

✨ EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR SUPERSTAR ✨

Erin is a Child Development Officer at Dubbo Family Daycare and has been involved in various roles in the Early Childhood sector for the past 17 years.

“My role is to support, mentor and guide our educators as they create positive and nurturing play environments for the children in their care,” Erin said.

“I love various aspects of early childhood; I especially enjoy seeing children achieve something new or have a big ‘light bulb’ moment where they put connections together. I also enjoy seeing positive interactions and play between educators and the children where the children feel safe, secure, and supported in the environment.”

Early childhood educators are so important as the first five years of a child’s life is where a lot of brain development happens. It is so important to create stimulating play spaces and connections that allow the children a positive foundation for learning.

Today is Early Childhood Educators Day and we want to celebrate early childhood educators like Erin!

Today is Early Childhood Educators Day.

Today we celebrate all of the amazingly wonderful educators who open their hearts and their homes to care and nuture our most precious little people.

Thank you to all of our amazing educators for your commitment, dedication and passion that each and every one of you share to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our children and their families. Sharing your expertise, experience and enthusiasm every day with our children allows them to have the best possible start to life and learning and your impact will stay with them for a lifetime.

Today 320 high school students from around the region came to sing, dance, play and learn with 32 exhibitors from across the region and the state from Early Childhood and Allied Health services at our EC forum.
To ignite passion in the next generation of people to care for our children and their families was a privilege and a joy.

National Family Day Care Week, which runs from 6 – 12 May 2024 nationwide, is one of the most important events on the family day care calendar, raising awareness of the vital role family day care educators, coordinators and services play in the development and wellbeing of over 75,000 children across Australia.

Dubbo Regional Council’s (DRC) Dubbo Family Day Care is recognising National Family Day Care Week 2024 with activities aimed at celebrating the crucial work that child educators play in the care and development of the region’s children.

As part of the week, numerous local educators are being recognised for their long-term dedication to the day care service. Educators being recognised for their service include:

• Linda Masterton (20 years)
• Jenny Hazell (25 years)
