It takes seconds to steal a number plate. It only takes minutes to help secure one.
✅ Secure your number plates with anti-theft screws or pop rivets.
✅ Park in a garage or driveway where possible.
✅ Consider sensor lighting and CCTV at home.
✅ Park in well-lit areas when on the street.

Stolen number plates are often used to avoid identification while committing offences, which can leave vehicle owners dealing with unwanted fines and other complications.

Through our SafePL8 program, Victoria Police, SES and Neighbourhood Watch regularly attend community events to fit anti-theft screws and share practical advice on keeping your number plates secure.

EXERCISE CAUTION 🏃‍♂️🏋️‍♂️

Police continue to see a concerning spike in theft of vehicles from gyms and aquatic facilities across our region.

Offenders will often ask for people inside the gym working out to let them in, using the excuse that they 'have lost their swipe card' or 'left their swipe card inside'. They will also follow people through entry gates. Once inside, offenders head to the unsecured lockers and bag holders and steal car keys and other valuables.

When getting in your daily workout:

🔒Use the secure lockers provided or keep valuables with you.

🔑 Never allow someone to access the gym who does not have a swipe access card.

🗣️ If you lose your swipe access card, report it to the gym or aquatic centre as soon as possible, so it can be de-activated.

It only takes a few seconds to stop, look and follow the signs. 🚆

Rail crossings are shared by drivers, pedestrians and trains, and ignoring the rules can have serious consequences.

When you see flashing red lights, come to a complete stop. Stop before the boom gates and never queue across the tracks. Give Way and Stop signs are a given - follow them every time.

Take the extra few seconds.
