On Monday night, members of the unit came together for one of our social nights of the year, enjoying a great evening of laser tag and bowling.

These nights are a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the bonds between members outside of training and operational responses, helping build teamwork, trust and camaraderie.

For some members, it was their first time playing laser tag and/or bowling, making it a great opportunity to try something new and encourage one another along the way.

During National Volunteer Week, we reflect on and celebrate the crucial support that volunteers provide to our communities.

It’s a big week for showing gratitude to volunteers with tomorrow - 20 May. We’ll be giving a special thanks to our volunteers in orange.

Our volunteers spend a lot of time to help out our community when unfortunate incidents happen. Our unpredictable weather also keeps us busy! We also assist other agencies (Victoria Police Eyewatch - Manningham Police Service Area, CFA (Country Fire Authority) Fire & Ambulance Victoria) in searching for missing people, crime scenes and general rescue duties.

We’d love to see you wearing a splash of orange when you drop by to see us at The Pines Shopping Centre outside Woolworths.

On 27 April, SES Manningham Unit, alongside Fire Rescue Victoria Nunawading - Station 27, Templestowe - Station 30 and South Warrandyte - Station 29, with State Emergency Management Officers, came together for a joint training session focused on strengthening response plan integration across the region.

The session brought crews together to align operational approaches, familiarise with each other’s appliances and equipment, and build strong working relationships on the ground.

By understanding each other’s capabilities, training and qualifications, we continue to strengthen a coordinated, effective response for our local community when it matters most.
