🗺️ HOW THE WALKING BUS WORKS THIS YEAR
Because we are hosting our Get Fire Ready Day simultaneously, this year's Walking Bus is self-guided.
Pop down to the station from 1:00 PM to grab your official $5 Halloween Map.
Follow the registered treat trail around Diggers Rest at your own pace with family and friends!

Getting fire ready is not just about your home - but also the places you might be going!

You might have seen these Australian Fire Danger Rating Signs (AFDRS) over the past few weeks start lighting up and the arrow moving every day - these signs are important to look at and see the fire risk in areas you are travelling to.

As we head into Summer and the Fire Danger Period, it is important to check the AFDRS daily through the CFA website, so you can plan and prepare for you and your family.

📣 IMPORTANT UPDATE: HALLOWEEN WALKING BUS FORMAT CHANGE 📣

Hey Diggers Rest community!
As we are running our Get Fire Ready Day alongside the Halloween Walking Bus at the fire station this year, there will be a slight change to how the Walking Bus operates.

🚒 What’s changing:
Due to current brigade requirements and volunteer member availability, this year’s Walking Bus will be self-guided with the purchase of an official $5 map from the fire station. CFA members will not be leading groups along the route as they have in previous years.

🗺️ How it works:
You can pop into the station starting from 1:00 PM on Saturday, 31st October, grab a sausage, pick up your $5 map, get your fire safety tips, and then set off at your own pace with family and friends to follow the trick-or-treat trail!

🌟 Please note:
If availability or circumstances change closer to the date, we may be able to return to our traditional guided format—we will keep you posted here on Facebook if anything changes!

The VicEmergency app provides a centralised location for Victorians to access timely emergency information and warnings.

The app includes warnings and incident notifications for fire, flood, storm, earthquake, tsunami, weather warnings, shark sightings, beach closures and more.

It uses that information to provide incident summaries and warnings to help you make informed decisions about your safety.
