So welcome to this week's WHO ARE OUR HOOMANS?🐾
Long post but a good one - the end is the best!

Customers : which one are you?

1. THE CLOTHES FLICKER
Walks in. You say hi. Nothing.
Rapidly flicks through every rack like they're searching for a winning Lotto ticket.
Stares directly at you on the way out.
You say, “Thanks for coming in!” Nothing.
Were they just shy when they came in?
Nah. Just barking rude. 😂
NOT our kind of hooman.

2. THE GRIEVING DOG PARENT
They've recently lost their hound.
They walk through our door carrying the food their dog didn't get to finish. A bed that's suddenly empty. A lead they don't need anymore. Their dog's things.
My mind fills with grief for them and my heart fills with love.
Somehow, while they're hurting, they're thinking about another dog who might need what their dog left behind.
THE BEST BARKING HOOMANS.
I feel bloody lucky every time I meet one. ❤️🐾

3. THE DONOR WHO THEN SHOPS
Brings in an AMAZING donation.
Then finds something they love and buys it.
I try to give them a discount because of what they've just donated.
Absolutely not. Pays full price. Leaves.
ABSOLUTELY OUR KIND OF HOOMAN.

4. THE “I'VE FOUND MY PEOPLE” SHOPPER
Walks in and says hello FIRST.
Tells us they love the shop.
Love the concept. Love dogs.
Finds a $50 tee and is genuinely excited about buying it because they know where the money is going.
Several first-time customers spent more than $100 with us this week.
Not because we're cheap.
Because they "get it".
TOTALLY OUR KIND OF HOOMAN.

5. THE WIFE SHOPPING FOR HUBBY
Huge shout-out to today's wifey hunting for jeans for her husband.
I WILL FIND THAT MAN SOME JEANS. 😂
Also, special mention for having a crack at the scooter riders who nearly became an unexpected bonnet accessory on your way out!
I'm no "barking expert" like they were...but I'm reasonably confident car vs scooter isn't a game anyone wins.
Helmet on. One person per scooter. Don't be a di****ad.
Even the dogs know to look before crossing the bloody road. 😂
Definitely our kind of hooman.

So that's this week's field research from 18 Don Road.
Some hoomans flick.
Some hoomans shop.
Some hoomans donate.
Some hoomans walk through our door carrying a little piece of a dog they loved 💔
And every week we're getting a better idea of exactly who our hoomans are.

FREEBIE FRIDAY! 🥦🐾

We’ve got a few FREE cauliflowers at the HHH Hub today, plus some portioned bags of dog food ready to go.

Why?
Because feeding hoomans is bloody expensive right now.
And feeding dogs isn’t getting any cheaper either.

This week, a gorgeous local also brought in a very generous donation of dog food. 💚

Yesterday, she said goodbye to her beautiful goldie, MIDAS. 🌈🐾

So we’re going to make sure Midas keeps doing some good.

Some of his donated food will go directly to people who could use a hand feeding their dogs, and some will be sold through the boutique to help fund our dog food support program, so one beautiful dog’s legacy can help feed a whole lot more.

No judgement.
No big story required.
If things are a bit tight and a bag of food or a cauliflower helps this week, come and see us.

And if you buy some of Midas’ donated food, know that your money is going straight back into helping us keep another dog’s bowl full.

Good food. Good hoomans. Good dogs.

That feels like a pretty bloody good legacy for Midas. 💚🐾

HELP!! DO YOU LOVE FRENCHIES?

Do you have enough love for 2?
Need to stay together ❣️🐾

We had a call this morning from one of our lovely customers trying to help someone rehome 2 frenchies.
They are aged 6 & 8.
Sadly their hooman is unwell and can’t care for them at the moment and is needing to rehome them.

I personally couldn’t cope being unwell and having to part with my dogs.

We were thinking maybe a long term foster or someone to help her look after them or something where mum can still see them?

Any ideas or offers of long term support for the hounds are welcome.

I don’t have photos, I’m just putting out feelers to see if anyone in our dog community can help ❣️🐾

Two things I bloody hate:

PEOPLE WHO LIE or STEAL 🤬

A big BARK you to the person who helped themselves to the cauliflowers while I was in Woolies : I hope you need food and not just opportunistic!

Those were for a local person who asked for some to be dropped off.

If you are a community group please contact us as there will be more available before the sheep eat them.

Devonport or Wesley Vale pick up.
These are what supermarkets would call seconds when buying them - but are better than what most are selling - they are perfectly OK.
Bit purple from extra sun. Too big from the amazing soil we have here in Tassie.

If you asked for one last time and didn't bother turning up to collect, please DON'T ask again as refusal may offend.

If you are a community group, please message us to arrange several for you.

Pick up tomorrow - will reply to DM's with time and location.

Yes the farmer knows I am collecting while playing with the dogs in the paddock.
