Devonport Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.

Devonport Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. Living City Business (DCCI) - supporting businesses to thrive so Devonport prospers.

How the Chamber Works

From its annual meeting each year, the members elect industry representatives whose responsibilities include bringing forward issues from their specialist sectors for executive discussion and action. The Chamber Executive Committee conducts monthly meetings at it office, 4 Rooke Street, Devonport. The aim of the monthly meetings is to bring together representation of member

organisations where representatives can freely express the ideas and issues relating to their particular groups. Reporting of market conditions within each industry sector at monthly meetings also provides the Chamber with current information on market trends and the health of the local economy. This also gives an indication of the local market as compared with the overall State economy. As a non-party political group, the Chamber can take up any matters with the applicable level of government on behalf of the body or individual that is seeking an effective outcome. In summary, the Chamber views itself as a working partnership of business, professional and community interests, intent on progressing commerce and industry in Devonport and its surrounding districts.

✨ - What a day.

A week on from the second Tasmanian Business Conference we reflect on the energy in the room at the paranaple Convention Centre last Wednesday which was something truly special.

This year's theme, Connection is Key, wasn't just a tagline, it was a key thread in every keynote, every session, and every conversation across the day. From emerging operators to large enterprises, the content landed in a way that was practical, insightful and immediately applicable.

We were blown away by the calibre of our speakers and the depth of conversation, particularly around artificial intelligence, where the dialogue moved well beyond the hype and into real, grounded application. Exactly where Tasmanian businesses need it to be.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made possible:

⭐Our incredible MC Michael Rowland
⭐Keynote speakers Dr Katherine Hunt, Ant Williams, Mark Bowles and Neil McGregor
⭐Workshop facilitators James Riggall and James McKee
⭐Panellists Vonette Mead, Brian Collins and Philip Reid
⭐The wonderful team at paranaple Convention Centre
⭐Our generous sponsors and partners, your support makes it all possible
⭐Plus, of course our incredible volunteer Executive Members and events team behind the scenes

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and took the time to provide feedback - it's means a lot. You are what makes this community so remarkable.

The future is bright for business in Devonport and surrounds.

See you at the next ! 💚
President, Claire Connelly

Our President, Claire Connelly, is looking forward to being part of the Tasmanian Energy Development Conference in Devonport this week.

With major energy and infrastructure investment on the horizon, the real question for regions like ours isn’t just what’s coming, it’s who benefits, when, and how prepared are we.

Some of the questions we're looking forward to explore and discuss:

➡️ What does being genuinely “investment ready” look like in practice?
➡️ What signals should local businesses and investors be watching for?
➡️ As large-scale infrastructure inevitably brings external capital and contractors, what mechanisms need to be in place now so local SMEs and workers can participate?
➡️ If you were a local business owner making investment or workforce decisions today, where would you go for a clear, trusted view of what’s happening when?

These aren’t abstract policy questions. They go directly to confidence, capability, and whether regional businesses are positioned to step into opportunity rather than watch it pass by.

We're looking forward to contribute a local business perspective to what should be a timely and important conversation.
