3 of our members have traveled to Melbourne for this years fire fighter stair climb.

Cato & Alistair with the support of Dan are helping to Raise 1 million dollars for mental health, cancer research & crisis support. Good luck we look forward to seeing some photos from the top.

Ever wondered what’s involved in fire fighter training, well for 3 of our firefighters last weekend took part in the “urban fire suppression” course. It’s a fantastic course teaching firefighters more involved fire fighting techniques, and understanding complex fire behaviour in buildings. But basically, we put them in custom built fire cells, added fire, and lots of heat. They did amazingly and we are very proud of them!

Last night, the Deloraine Fire Brigade along with 9 other local community groups received grants for community projects from the Deloraine branch of the Bendigo bank. We are incredibly grateful for the grant totalling $14,500 which we are using to upgrade our training facilities at the Deloraine fire station. This is a project we are very proud of and have been working on improving over the last few years. The upgraded training facility is based around structure fire fighting and will be used by not only the volunteers of the Deloraine brigade but also available to be used by all other brigades in the area which gives us all an opportunity to improve and strengthen the skills and capabilities of our firefighters.
Massive thank you to the team at the Deloraine Bendigo Bank, we greatly appreciate your ongoing support of our brigade and of course the Meander Valley community.

In my mind the Tasmania Fire Service is an amazing organisation and within the organisation there are some great people in great brigades, and for some brigades it’s a lot more than just going to fires. Here at Deloraine we see it as a way volunteers can work as a team to serve and support and play an active role in our community. As the sun is coming up over a heavy frost we are getting ready to take the plunge to mark the end of our MND fundraiser for this year. I am so so pleased and very proud to tell you all that we have raised over $12,000.00 and will be donating $10,174.00 to Fight MND via the amazing team at the Deloraine Football club big freeze event today!! We have also used the remaining funds to purchase equipment to help our dear friend and fellow DFB firefighter Billy.
I am so proud of our little brigade for over the last 8 years we have been involved in fundraising and donating over $45,000.00 and with an ever growing brigade I am sure our volunteers will continue being fully committed to our communities needs for many years to come.
