🚨Saturday Training – Delaneys Creek Rural Fire Brigade 🚨

Today’s training scenario focused on rural firefighting fundamentals, including pump operations, hose work, crew coordination, and field tactics in a grassfire environment. Crews worked through practical exercises designed to build confidence, communication, and operational readiness ahead of the upcoming fire season.

These sessions are an important part of maintaining skills, teamwork, and safety on the fireground, ensuring our members are prepared when the community needs us most.

A big thank you to all members who gave up their Saturday to train and continue developing their capabilities. 🙌🏼

🚨Members from Delaneys Creek Rural Fire Brigade had the opportunity to visit Firecom Brisbane, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at the critical coordination that supports emergency response across Queensland.

Firecom plays a vital role in dispatching crews, managing incidents, and ensuring clear communication between appliances and crews on the ground. It was a great experience for our members to see firsthand how incidents are monitored and coordinated from the communications centre.

Understanding how Firecom operates helps strengthen our response capability and highlights the importance of clear, concise radio communications during incidents.

A big thank you to the Firecom team for taking the time to show us around and share their knowledge — your work behind the scenes is essential to keeping our crews and communities safe.

👏 We appreciate everything you do!

🚨 FIRE DANGER WARNING – EXTREME CONDITIONS TOMORROW 🚨

The Delaneys Creek Rural Fire Brigade is urging all residents in Delaneys Creek and surrounding areas to be on high alert tomorrow, with Extreme Fire Danger conditions forecast. 🔥

Strong winds, high temperatures, and low humidity will create very high fire risk. Under these conditions, fires can start easily and spread rapidly.

Review your bushfire survival plan – know what you’ll do if a fire starts.
Avoid using machinery that can spark a fire (like grinders or mowers).
Clear leaves and debris from around your home.
Stay informed via the QFES website, local radio, and the QLD Fire app.

🚫 No fires are to be lit under any circumstances.
Stay safe, stay alert, and look out for your neighbours.
