Facebook rules

The Hepburn Shire Council page is designed to provide the community with important information in a timely way. If you have a service request that relates to any of the services provided by Council, we encourage you to lodge a service request via our website at https://www.hepburn.vic.gov.au/request or call our customer service team on (03) 5348 2306. If you wish to make

a formal complaint a Complaints Form is available on our website at www.hepburn.vic.gov.au/complaint. Hepburn Shire Council has disabled comments for a period of six months from 14 April 2025. Over recent months, we have seen a concerning increase in commentary from a small number of community members that has become personally targeted, hostile, and aggressive—particularly toward our Council staff. While we welcome and encourage respectful dialogue and value community feedback, the safety and wellbeing of our staff and Councillors is our priority and a legislated responsibility. We remain committed to open and transparent communication. Community members are encouraged to continue engaging with Council through the appropriate channels, including our website, customer service centres, formal consultation processes and in a respectful manner with staff and Councillors. We would appreciate your understanding and support as we work to maintain a respectful environment where we are kind to each other even where we may not agree. Moderating and replying to messages will generally occur during our regular business hours of Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm. Messages submitted at other times will be responded to when practicable.

Spring is finally here, and with the warmer weather and recent rainfall, our parks, reserves and open spaces across Hepburn Shire are bursting back to life with fresh green growth and beautiful seasonal blooms.

The wet conditions we've experienced over recent weeks have made it challenging for our crews to keep up with mowing schedules, and as temperatures continue to rise, grass growth will accelerate rapidly across the shire.

Please be assured that our Parks and Open Spaces team is working hard and will be onto it as soon as conditions allow. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through the increased growth and maintain our public spaces to the highest standard possible.

In the meantime, take the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine, the fresh spring air, and the colourful blooms emerging throughout our towns, parks and gardens.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and here's to a wonderful spring in Hepburn Shire! 🌿🌸☀️

⛔Daylesford Skate Park playground closure

We apologise to our community for the short notice, but the Daylesford Neighbourhood Park Playground will be temporarily closed tomorrow, Tuesday 8 September to allow for important maintenance and improvement works.

👷‍♂️During this time, crews will be removing sections of granitic gravel, extending and topping-up mulch areas, repairing the rubber safety matting on the slide, and undertaking a general tidy-up of the playground and surrounding area. These works are being completed to ensure the playground remains safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all users.

👐We appreciate the community's patience and understanding while these improvements are carried out.

🧒The playground is expected to reopen in time for the upcoming school holidays, ready for families and children to enjoy. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to enhance this valued community space.

Women’s Health Week (7–11 September) is Australia’s largest annual event dedicated to the health and wellbeing of women, girls and gender diverse people. It has been run by Jean Hailes since 2012 and takes place every September.

The 2026 theme encourages small, realistic steps toward better health, acknowledging that many women juggle work, family and caring responsibilities.

The Daylesford Table Tennis Centre 🏓 is hosting a program provided by Table Tennis Victoria to encourage women and girls in sport (details ⬇️). Two professional female coaches will be coming from Melbourne to hold the session and encourage women and girls to try their hand at a new sport.
