A great result for the Central Coast & TCC.

Team Central Coast is extending its sincere gratitude to residents of the region for their support during the recent local government election, with three of Team Central Coast’s independent candidates, Lawrie McKinna, Kyla Daniels and John Mouland, elected to Central Coast Council.

Team Central Coast Leader, Lawrie McKinna, says the encouragement from local residents has been invaluable and all Team Central Coast candidates truly appreciate the dedication to their shared vision for the region.

“We feel honoured to have three Team Central Coast candidates elected to the new Central Coast Council to represent the voice of our local community and advocate for what we know the people of our region truly deserve,” says Mr McKinna.

“On behalf of my fellow Team Central Coast candidates, I would like to thank the residents of the Central Coast for the privilege to represent their best interests as independent councillors, who are able to make informed decisions that reflect the real desires of our local communities.

“We are proud that each of our candidates were committed to running a positive election campaign that we now hope will assist in rebuilding trust in politicians at all levels of government.”

Team Central Coast has also congratulated the other successful candidates who will form the new Central Coast Council.

“We are dedicated to forming an elected Council which puts our community first,” adds Mr McKinna.

“We are very much looking forward to working collaboratively with all of our region’s new councillors to build a brighter future for the Central Coast.”

Sadly, I did not get elected in our Ward of Gosford East.

I thank each & every member of the community that took the time to stop and find out what I stood for as one
of the independent candidates running under Lawrie McKinna & Team Central Coast (TCC).

The results, albeit concerning, are good news for the CC & our ward.

Thanks to TCC securing 3 seats, along with the 4 for the Libs & Doug Eaton, the local government landscape of the CC
has been rescued from a return to a dark past at the hands of the very people & parties that put us back financially for decades.

The next phase is to elect a Mayor which is a democratic vote by the new councillors probably in about 2 weeks’ time.

Team Central Coast have candidates in all wards and are strongly supportive of mountain biking. They are not affilated to our knowledge with Liberal, Labor or The Greens.

Questions to Council Candidates:
Do you and/or your party as a whole believe that Council should provide formal mountain bike trails in natural areas that are appropriate in length and variety to the needs of the mountain bike community?
Yes

Do you and/or your party as a whole believe that this Council should move to create a formal trail network on the Central Coast and to back this with budget to enable appropriate planning within the next Council term?
Yes and is designed responsibly to protect our local Environment.

Do you and/or your party endorse mountain bike trails to occur, be constructed or current unsanctioned trails formalised within land known as the Coastal Open Space System (COSS)

We would look at every case on its merits .

What is your and/or your party's position on mountain biking in general?

TCC is a supporter of mountain biking due to the health , recreation, health and tourism opportunity’s it provides to our region.

Do you and/or your party believe that COSS lands have an important role to play in allowing residents to engage in active and passive recreation?

We believe that the appropriate use of COSS lands can be advantageous to showcase the regions COSS lands to residents and visitors to our region.

Will you and/or your party support any motion that seeks to remove or close mountain bike trails in COSS lands prior to a formal approved MTB network that meets community needs being established and available to use?

We are unaware off any issue that would cause impact to bike trails anywhere in our region.

Are you and/or your party committed to maintaining the Status Quo of unsanctioned trail in COSS lands being used whilst formal trail networks in COSS lands are established?

Team CC would welcome exploring options to sanction these trails in COSS lands to ensure they are maintained to the standards required and our environment is protected.

Will you support mountain bikers being part of any council based consultative committee or advisory group that is involved with managing or advising Council on COSS lands or other natural areas managed by Council?

Absolutely any committee of council needs to ensure is has a cross section of relevant stakeholders.

Do any of the Councillors running for election under your banner disagree with the position outlined in the above questions?

Let’s get back to basics – Roads, Rates, Rubbish, and real community Issues.

Council should not be involved in big party politics & global climate issues.

We are all independents; I have lived in Davistown for 20 years.

Lawrie Mckinna & Team Central Coast are a group of 15 local independent coasties (3 in each of Central Coast’s 5 wards)
that have a passion to make our region a truly great place to live, work and thrive.

It's time to get councillors back to basic principles of Road, Rates, Rubbish & focusing on local issues not lofty political strategies & global climate issues.

The coast needs a fresh start, we cannot go back to the dysfunction that we had with big party politics before the last lot of councillors were sacked
leaving the ratepayer to pick up a half a billion $s worth of debt.
