Who’s your Sober Bob?

This Dry Season, before you head out for a drink, plan how you will get home safely - because our lives are worth living.

Every time you get behind a wheel, you make a choice.

If you’re going to drink, don’t drive - it’s not worth the risk.

Your Sober Bob doesn’t have to be a person you are out with – it can be a taxi, bus or someone else organised to pick you up.

Whatever it takes, make the choice that keeps everyone safe, because our lives are worth living.

The ‘Who’s Your Sober Bob?’ campaign encourages Territorians to not drink and drive and plan ahead to have a designated sober driver get you home safely.

Construction of the new 32-bed ward at Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) is now complete and the commissioning phase is underway.

We worked closely with NT Health and Northern Territory contractor Aspire Design & Construct to bring this important project to fruition.

The new $23.95 million ward increases the number of beds available at RDH, helping to improve patient flow and ease capacity pressures. The facility has been designed as a multipurpose ward to care for bariatric, renal and general medical patients.

Located at the front of RDH’s main carpark next to the café, the elevated building also provides a two-level undercover car park. The new ward is connected to the main RDH tower by a link bridge, allowing patients and staff to move easily between the two buildings.

The completion of the ward marks an important milestone in strengthening health infrastructure and supporting better outcomes for Territorians

🌐 NEW online system for road reserve development approvals – live from 3 June 2026.

You will be able to lodge applications for private development works in NT Government managed road reserves through our new online system.

The system replaces the manual email process for applications relating to private development works within NT Government managed road reserves, offering real‑time tracking, improved document handling and more consistent assessment workflows.

A 6‑month transition period is in place, allowing applications to be lodged via email or through the new online platform before moving fully online.

Finke Desert Race is this weekend - let’s look after each other.

Plan a Sober Bob if you’re having a few, always wear a seatbelt, and keep an eye out for pedestrians.

We all want to have a great weekend and get home safe.

Charles Darwin University Engineering and Environment Careers Fair

On 7 May, the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI) Recruitment and Attraction team attended the Charles Darwin University Engineering and Environment Careers Fair, to promote DLI as an employer of choice for future engineers.

The team highlighted the broad range of engineering disciplines across DLI, shared pathways into the department, and showcased major infrastructure projects currently being delivered across the Territory.

Engaging with a large number of students, the team received keen interest from those looking to explore career opportunities with DLI and begin planning their future in the engineering sector.

Overall, it was a successful day connecting with the Territory’s future workforce and supporting students to set strong foundations for their engineering careers.
