Tropics Early Learning is a not-for-profit, community-run long day care centre based in the northern suburbs of Malak. We care for up to 90 children between 6 weeks and 5 years daily. We are open Monday to Friday 7:00am-6.00pm. Our centre is a warm and inviting and we work in partnership with our families to ensure the best outcomes for all children. The service uses the Early Years Learning frame

work (EYLF) to implement individual programs for each child. We have a range of engaging indoor and outdoor spaces to allow children to explore and learn in their own space at their own pace and time. WE LOVE PLAY!! Children should be taught how to think, not what to think and through play they gain the skills to explore, investigate, research, create and imagine! The children learn their capabilities through risk taking and also gain confidence in their environment. Our role as educators is to scaffold this learning, planning for development and providing guidance for the children. We believe in respecting our environment and that embedding sustainable practices will foster a generation who will respect and care for their world around them.

Celebrating 30 Years of Giota 🌿
We are so proud to be honouring our wonderful educator, Giota, and her incredible 30 years of dedicated service to Tropics Early Learning.
Giota has been such a special part of our centre, caring for and supporting generations of children, families, educators and our wider community with so much warmth, kindness and dedication.
To celebrate this amazing milestone, families and community members are invited to join us for a special afternoon featuring traditional Greek delicacies, live music and a celebration cake as we recognise Giota’s cultural heritage and her incredible contribution to Tropics.

Outdoor play is so much more than fresh air and fun 🌿

At Tropics Early Learning, our outdoor environments give children space to move, explore, imagine and connect with the world around them.

Through outdoor play, children are building confidence, developing balance and coordination, learning social skills, practising risk assessment and strengthening their connection with nature, all while doing what they do best: playing.

Because every climb, run, dig, jump and discovery is part of their learning journey.
