Darwin Toy Library Making Learning Fun for Everyone through an extensive range of toys and resources to encourage a childs development by engaging in play.

Darwin Toy Library began in 1978 so that families and carers of Children with Special Needs could access a wide range of toys and equipment to assist with their children’s development. It was soon realized that it would benefit the development of all children to access the Toy Library resources and the service was opened to the general public. A mobile service is offered to families with an Additi

onal Needs membership for larger equipment not able to be transported easily in standard vehicles. Darwin Toy Library has close to 4000 items available for loan. All toys can be taken home for up to two weeks before returning and selecting a new experience. Family Memberships are available with concessional rates are offered to families with Additional Needs Children and low-income families. Group memberships are available for Childcare Centres, Day Carers and organisations who provide services to children. The Darwin Toy Library is supported by Territory Families and by the Department of Education for our operations, supplemented by revenue generated from our library operations.

A huge thank‑you to the Airport Development Group!

Today we officially launch our new resources purchased through the Airport Development Group’s support of our "Building Thinkers Through Play" project.

Thanks to ADG’s funding, families can now borrow a new range of collaborative STEAM games, construction sets and problem-solving resources through the Toy Library collection.

These resources are designed to support creativity, confidence and learning through play at home, while improving access to quality educational support materials for families across our community.

We are grateful to ADG for supporting this project and investing in learning through play for NT children and families.
