We have our Fire Trucks on display, Lots of information on how you can get prepared for the fire season, giveaways for the kids, and the kids can get a chance to be a Fire Fighter with fun activities.

We have our first High Fire Danger rating of the season today (Mon 6 Oct)

🚒 Please report all unattended fires immediately to Triple Zero (000)
🚒 Keep up to date with the Hazards Near Me app
🚒To check the daily FDR, and forecasted FDR for the next three days, go to https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fdr-and-tobans - and zoom in on the map to your location

IMPORTANT: Members of the community are asked to always immediately report fires to Triple Zero (000) rather than calling members of the Brigade. Calling 000 ensures that all members of the brigade are advised and an appropriate level of response can be activated (appliances and personnel) in the quickest possible time.

1 OCTOBER - START OF BUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD

1 October is the official start of the Bush Fire Danger Period, which runs through until 31 March 2027.

During this time, a Fire Permit is required before lighting a fire.
If you’re planning to burn, you must have the appropriate permit in place before you light up. Remember, permits may also be suspended during periods of increased fire danger.

➡️ You can apply for a free Fire Permit online at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify
➡️ Notify the NSW RFS at least 24 hours before lighting via www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify or by calling the RFS Canobolas Zone Fire Control Centre on 6363 6666 Monday to Friday during business hours
➡️ Notify all neighbours at least 24 hours before lighting
