Santa is coming to a Tweed Coast town near you this Christmas Eve. Cudgen Brigade will be out delivering Christmas cheer and a whole bunch of lollies from 3:30pmish starting in Seaside City and heading south through Casuarina. With a little North Pole magic Santa will also be at Tumbulgum at 4:00pmish then heading north through Bogangar, starting at the Sandlewood Drive end of town at around 4:30pmish. Keep an ear out for the siren! We hope to see you on our travels, but if we dont, we hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🚒🎅🎉

One of our Cudgen trucks hit the road this morning heading to firegrounds down south , crewed by an amazing all-female crew from Cudgen, Tweed Coast, and Bilambil Brigades.

Over the last two weekends we've had Cudgen members become qualified structural fire fighters and attend training in the Northern Tablelands to become future Remote Area Fire fighters where they can navigate, fight fires using dry fire fighting techniques and operate in remote environments.

A Total Fire Ban is in place across the North East of the state tomorrow (Monday 27/10/25), including Tweed, Byron & Ballina Local Government Areas.

From midnight tonight (Sunday 26/10/25), no fires are to be lit outdoors and hot works such as welding and grinding are prohibited outdoors for 24hrs.

Sugar cane burning is permitted between the hours of 5pm and 7am.

Passing the torch at Cudgen Brigade! 🔥

The recent AGM marked a significant change for the brigade.

After a decade of outstanding leadership, our Captain Troy Middlebrook has stood aside. Thank you, Troy, for your immense commitment and years of service to Cudgen.

We warmly congratulate and welcome our new Captain, Damian Bray, who was elected by the brigade! Wishing you all the best, Captain Bray!
