Happy Book Week!

To celebrate 2026 Book Week and its theme, Symphony of Stories, last week students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of themed activities.

During lunchtimes, students were able to ‘Read it! And Chill’ in themed genre nests, create a ‘Rep it! Book Badge’ or ‘Crank it!’ by composing a hole punch song and playing it on the hole punch music box.

Throughout the week students also participated in Book Recommendation Bingo and our annual Bookmark Design Competition for a chance at winning prizes, as well as an opportunity to have their bookmark design professionally printed.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Pat Cronin Foundation for visiting our Year 10 students earlier this week to present their Violence is Never Okay session.

Touching on topics such as respect, emotional regulations and conflict resolution, students were equipped with practical strategies to challenge violence and seek support when they need to.

Students left the session empowered to recognise the impact of violence and the important role they play in fostering respectful, safe and inclusive communities.

Earlier this month, a group of Year 9 students had the opportunity to attend the Sir John Monash Commemorative Service at the Victorian Parliament House.

The commemorative service allowed students to engage with history beyond the classroom, listening to speeches and reflections honouring Sir John Monash and his military leadership and visionary engineering.

Selected to represent Elevation Secondary College, our students commemorated the life, leadership and legacy of one of Australia’s most distinguished military figures with class, maturity and respect.

Yesterday, the Elevation community came together to donate warm clothes and blankets to families in need this winter.

The Big Group Hug donation drive was organised by Year 11 VCE Vocational Major students Arman, Nizar, Imad, Noor, Abo and Rishay as part of their Personal Development Skills coursework.

All donated items are going to not-for-profit organisation Big Group Hug, who will then distribute the items to help support vulnerable and disadvantaged Victorian families.

Towards the end of Term 2 our Year 9 Food Studies students explored cuisines and cultured from around the world, learning how food can reflect traditions, ingredients and ways of life.

As part of their assessment task, students selected a country and transformed a burger or a wrap into a dish inspired by that nation’s flavours, ingredients and cultural influences.
