This week in Cronulla, Layla was proudly named Captain of the South Coast Team at the inaugural NSWPSSA U12 Girls Rugby League Championships.

It was an incredible experience to witness such outstanding talent displayed by all the girls. The South Coast team finished a commendable 6th place in the state.

We are ALL IN at UPS for Reconciliation Week! Ms Prior, our teacher librarian, has an array of books on display and is forever supporting our students and teachers with highlighting important moments through engagement with quality literature.

On Friday, students thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Reconciliation Walk to Figtree High School, where they joined together to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of reconciliation and community. The afternoon was filled with connection and fun, as students were welcomed by Figtree High School students with games and a delicious afternoon tea. It was wonderful to see students engaging so positively, building relationships, and embracing the spirit of the occasion.

Environment Committee Update 🌳🌎

In preparation for World Environment Day, our team have been brainstorming how we can raise awareness for caring for the environment.

This year’s theme for World Environment Day is “Climate Action”

The planet doesn’t argue. It doesn’t negotiate. It sends signals – rising seas, raging wildfires, heatwaves, melting glaciers. The signals we, as humans, decide to send back will impact our world and our future. Forest replantation. Solar panels. Keeping our school free of litter. It all makes a difference.

We’ve been taking our brainstorm and turning our ideas and messages of hope into creative posters. Using Canva for Education, our tech-savvy skills are growing! Once complete, these messages calling for action will be displayed around our school.

🌟 Congratulations to Freija! 🌟

We are so proud to celebrate Freija’s recent participation in the NSW State PSSA Hockey trials held in Bathurst. Competing against 14 other regional teams, her team finished an impressive 4th overall – a fantastic achievement that Freija is truly proud to be part of.

Well done, Freija! Your hard work, dedication, and team spirit are inspiring to us all. Keep shining on and off the field! 🏑💪👏

Our amazing dance troupe has been working hard for the last 14 weeks in preparation for the South Coast Dance Festival. They are very excited to be taking the stage over the next 4 days to show that a little magic will always win.

Unanderra Public School is ready to entertain audiences with their performance, Revenge of the Villains. Adding to the spectacle are the students’ eye-catching costumes. We can't wait to see Unanderra Public School showcase their talent, creativity and enthusiasm in a performance choreographed by Crystal Ryman, Victoria Nourie and Evelyn Arnold.
