October 1st marks the beginning of the Bushfire Danger Period for the Coffs Coast District. Meaning that as of Wednesday, all burns will require a written permit from one of our Fire Permit Officers. We are aware that many people will be wanting to get those last minute burns in before the start of BFDP. Tomorrow 30/09 the forecasted winds are predicted to reach 40km/h in the afternoon, so we are asking you to please reconsider lighting up. There have already been incidents this week of land holders losing control of burns due to the wind. Don't be "that" neighbour. Keep yourself, your family, your property and your neighbours safe by burning responsibly.
