What an amazing attendance at the annual Coral Bay ANZAC DAY dawn service this morning.
An estimated 500 people in attendance with special guests from the DFES Cadets and Emergency Services.

Last week members gathered to celebrate 20 years since the amalgamation of Coral Bay SES and BFS to form Volunteer Fire Emergency Service.
Guests included some of the original committee, Matt Thorburn, Colin Walker and John Farne along with Sandra Lymbery and Bernie Vale the only 2 members of the original committee, still active, along with Ed Smith - President Carnarvon Shire, Merv Austic - Executive Officer- VFES Assoc, Paul Corless and Simon Miller - DFES - Midwest/Gascoyne.
A great night was had by everyone, enjoying the company and swapping tales of incidents good and bad over the passed 20 years.

Today is National Water Safety Day.

Over the 10 year period to 2020-21, 7 out of 10 people presumed drowned in recreational boating incidents were not wearing a lifejacket.

The easiest way you can stay safe on the water is by wearing your lifejacket.

Even if you are going on a short trip a lifejacket will help you if things don't go to plan.

Marine Rescue NSW encourages everyone on board a vessel to wear a lifejacket at all times. Don't forget to Log On with Marine Rescue NSW every time you head out.
