Coonamble Shire Council is pleased to advise that the Mt Magometon Quarry is now open on Saturdays as part of a three-month trial period.

Over the past 12 months, Council has invested significantly in quarry operations, including upgrades to the crushing plant, replacement of the primary jaw crusher and increased production capacity to improve product availability.

The Coonamble Artesian Bore Baths Project is currently in the planning, design and development stage.

๐ŸŠ Bore bath pools
๐ŸŒฟ Wetlands

๐Ÿ“ Bore to be drilled to a depth of approximately 725 metres

๐Ÿ’ง New bore will be dual purpose and will assist with the townโ€™s future water supply and water security

๐Ÿš› Water will also be supplied to:

โ€ข Truck wash
โ€ข Standpipe
โ€ข Cemetery irrigation
โ€ข Water Treatment Plant (WTP)

๐Ÿ“ˆ Project will generate benefits for Coonamble through:

โ€ข Improved community infrastructure
โ€ข Enhanced long-term water security

๐Ÿ“ The drilling rig will also be drilling a bore on Wingadee Street, which is a separate project with separate funding.

We're excited to let our community know that upgrade works will be commencing this week at the Warren Road and Castlereagh Highway intersection, approximately 17.6km south of Coonamble.

These works are being carried out under Coonamble Shire Council's Road Maintenance Council Contract (RMCC) Ordered Works on behalf of Transport for NSW (TfNSW).

Works are expected to run for approximately 8 weeks.

Here's what's happening out there ๐Ÿ‘‡
๐Ÿ”จ The intersection is being widened to improve safety for all road users, including heavy vehicles
๐Ÿ”จ New turning lanes are being added in both directions on the Castlereagh Highway
๐Ÿ”จ Culverts (water pipes under the road) are being replaced and upgraded
๐Ÿ”จ Warren Road will be rebuilt on the approach to the intersection
๐Ÿ”จ Fresh sealing, line marking, signage and guideposts will be installed once works are complete

What this means for drivers:
๐Ÿš— At least one lane will remain open at all times
๐Ÿšฆ Portable traffic lights will be operating during work hours
โฑ๏ธ Expect minor delays โ€“ traffic in each direction may be stopped for up to 10 minutes at a time
