Council is hosting a series of community consultation sessions across the Shire on Thursday 4 June:
📍 Gulargambone – Mechanics Hall at 9:00am
📍 Quambone – Memorial Hall at 12:00pm
📍 Coonamble – Council Chambers at 3:00pm - 5:00pm

These sessions are a great opportunity to learn more about the Draft 2026/27 Council Budget, ask questions, and share your feedback with Council.

Senior Council staff will be in attendance to hear from the community and discuss the proposed budget and priorities for the year ahead.

We look forward to seeing you there and hearing your views.

Coonamble Shire Council advises the travelling public that all unsealed roads are now open to all vehicles; however, motorists are urged to drive with caution.

🚜 Primary producers are kindly requested to minimise the movement of heavy vehicles until unsealed sections between properties and the sealed road network have thoroughly dried out.

⚠️ Travellers should take extra care when using unsealed roads by:
• Slowing down and driving to the conditions
• Anticipating muddy sections, particularly at causeways
• Being aware that road conditions may change quickly

Coonamble Shire Council has placed a suite of draft planning and budget documents on public exhibition as part of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) Framework.

These documents outline Council’s proposed services, projects, activities and financial planning for the 2026/27 financial year, while also supporting the broader four-year Delivery Program period from 2025–2029.

𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:
📄 Draft Operating Plan and Budget 2026/27
📄 Draft Revenue Policy 2026/27
📄 Draft Fees and Charges 2026/27

The Draft Operational Plan includes commitments to:
✔️ Work with local businesses, not-for-profit organisations and educational institutions to support skills development and local employment opportunities
✔️ Develop a housing strategy to help address housing affordability and residential land availability across the Shire

Mayor Dan Keady said the exhibition period is an important opportunity for the community to review Council’s priorities and provide feedback.
