Connect 5 Children’s Services is excited to announce our Term 4 Timetable for 2025!

We’re back with our much-loved Mobile Play Sessions and Toy Library, running from 9:00am – 3:00pm for children aged 0-6 years and we're travelling across the Warrumbungle, Gilgandra, Walgett, and Coonamble Shires throughout the school term!

Our sessions are run by qualified Educators and offer fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities for your little ones.

CHILDREN'S PUPPET SHOW - COONABARABRAN: Little Wing Puppets are back in Coonabarabran, presenting their charming interactive show Trinket the Robot at the Town Hall with two performances.

Where: Coonabrarban Town Tall
When: Wednesday 6 August
10.00am - Designed to bring together both the youngest and eldest members of our community, with morning tea provided.
12:00pm - Geared toward local primary school students, though the general public is welcome to attend either session.

Trinket the Robot is an enthralling tale about a little robot who longs to become “real” – but is he ready for what it means to be alive? An inventor, Dr Doovalacky, sets out to build a robot with the help of his assistant, a green caterpillar named Gizmo. But this robot will be no ordinary robot. Trinket will be able to have feelings like a “real human,” and the audience needs to help him learn about the world.

Join Little Wing Puppets on this magical journey with Trinket, Gizmo and Dr Doovalacky - costume dress-ups are welcome!

CONNECT FIVE TERM 3 TIMETABLE 2025: Connect Five Children’s Services offers Mobile Play Sessions and a Toy Library for children aged 0-6 years across the Warrumbungle, Gilgandra, Walgett, and Coonamble Shires. These services operate during school terms, between 9:00am and 3:00pm.

Led by qualified Educators, the play sessions take place at a variety of local venues, including preschools, school grounds, church halls, community halls, and parks or ovals.

NAIDOC WEEK OPENING CEREMONY INVITATION: Warrumbungle Shire Council and Coonabarabran Local Aboriginal Lands Council invites community members to the official opening of NAIDOC Week 2025.

Community Members are invited to join Elders and Council Staff for the official flag raising at 10am Monday 7 July 2025 at Council Offices 14-22 John Street followed by a morning tea in the Chambers.

The event is being hosted by Warrumbungle Shire Council and Coonabarabran Local Aboriginal Lands Council.

JOIN THE FUN THESE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: Coonabarabran Vacation Care for children attending Infants and Primary School, aged 5-12 years will be open these December and January School Holidays with an exciting program of Christmas activities, art, cooking, experiments and fun days.

Vacation care operates from Children’s Services Robertson St Campus, 14 Robertson St, Coonabarabran.

📅 December – Thursday 19th December to Friday 20th December 2024
📅January- Monday 20th January to Friday 24th January 2025
📅January - Tuesday 28th January to Friday 31st January 2025
📅January - Monday 3rd February to Friday 7th February 2025

If you qualify for Child Care Subsidy (CCS) you can get reduced vacation care fees. Families can use the CCS Calculator at StartingBlocks.gov.au to estimate what they might have to pay for outside school hours care.
