We would like to acknowledge that today is National Sorry Day. It provides an opportunity for us to reflect, remember and learn.

At CHS, we recognise the pain and impacts experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly members of the Stolen Generations who were separated from their families, culture and Country.

Today, we honour the strength, resilience and stories of Survivors, and acknowledge the importance of truth, healing and reconciliation.

As a school community, we are committed to fostering respect, understanding and connection as we work together towards a stronger future for all Australians.

From the Deputy Desk:

Week 5 Term 2 has continued to be busy and provide our students with a range of learning experiences.

In Science, Year 10 have been learning about Motion. They did an ‘eggselent’ job and all of their passengers survived. Year 7 have learned about Forces and electrostatics.

Its show time for our Agriculture students who are managing steers during lunch time. Year 11 are conducting a trial of different rates of fertilisers on plant growth. In Primary Industries, Year 12 have just put school ewes and lambs on their oat crop following some much needed rain.

The Breadknife Cafe continues to win the hearts (and stomachs) of the community. Our Support Unit’s Food Technology program is also going from strength to strength and I appreciate the coffees and lunches they have provided me! Last but not least, Bear, our school Wellbeing Dog continues to win all of our hearts and minds!

We are very proud of our respectful, responsible students who are ready to learn across and beyond their classrooms. We also wish our Year 7 - 10 students well in preparation for their exams next week.

Have a safe and happy weekend, everyone!
