Getting ready to do your burn, note a pile burn is dry vegetation, no big logs and 2mx2mx 1.5 high. Ensure it is clear around the pile and have water, tools and or machinery to control the fire.

We maybe out of the fire season but condition at present require careful attention to the weather and making sure you are able to manage the fire. There has been a number of fire escaping from burns that have required RFS brigades to attend.
Notify your planned burns on the RFS website, let your neighbours and your local Brigade know when you intend to burn.

Tomorrow Saturday 11th April your Brigade will be at the Growers Markets at the Coomba Aquatic Club.
We will be happy to answer and question regarding burning in the non-bushfire season and we will have advice on being ready for the winter fire risks.
The fire truck will be there so opportunity for children photos in the driver's seat.

Today, 31 March, marks the end of the statutory Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) for the majority of NSW including Mid Coast and Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA.

While many landholders may no longer require a fire permit, you are still required to notify the RFS and your neighbours of your intention to burn at least 24 hours before lighting the fire.
