Under 8’s Week Celebrations 🎉🎊

We will be celebrating Under 8‘s Week tomorrow morning at WoodLinks State School. It’s going to be an action packed, fun filled morning for our Prep, Year 1 & Year 2 students.

If you have a child in these grades you are warmly invited to attend with them and join in the fun. Younger siblings are also welcome to attend with their parents or caregivers.

Dear Families,

Unfortunately, we have just received confirmation from Redbank Bears that the fields will be closed tomorrow due to their condition following the rain over the weekend.

As a result, we will need to postpone tomorrow's League Stars Challenge.

With only two weeks remaining in Term 2, it is likely that the challenge will now be held in Term 3.

The new date will be emailed out to parents as soon as we have confirmation.

Little Learners Playgroup 🧩🎨⚽️

Thank you to all the families who have joined us so far at playgroup. We’ve had lots of fun dressing up, exploring indoor and outdoor play and getting to know each other.

For those of you who would like to join us this week here are the details-

Playgroup runs on Wednesday mornings of school term from 9am to 10.30am. We use part of our Hall and areas outside. It is for children of all ages prior to starting to school and is free for our community. It is helpful to bring a hat and water bottle.

This week, our Year 1A students teamed up with their Year 6C buddies to investigate the question, "What is your favourite ice cream flavour – Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry?" Together, they collected and recorded data using tally marks before representing their findings on a graph. Once the investigation was complete, students celebrated their learning by enjoying their favourite ice cream flavour together!

Today, we participated in the annual National Acknowledgement of Country to mark the beginning of National Reconciliation Week (NRW) at WoodLinks. Our Year 6 students who identify as First Nations peoples proudly led the Acknowledgement of Country in unison over the school loudspeaker, with all classes pausing to participate together as a school community. We all have a role to play in reconciliation as we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and futures.
