On Tuesday, we recognised National Sorry Day. Students reflected on the history of the Stolen Generations and learned about the ongoing effects of this harm.

The Native Hibiscus flower symbolises the scattering of the Stolen Generations and their resilience to the Australian government policies.

Eid al-Adha, one of the most significant occasions in the Islamic calendar, is a time of prayer, reflection and celebration.

Across Victoria and around the world, meals are shared, communities give to those in need, and the values of sacrifice, gratitude and care for one another are honoured.

The Victorian Multicultural Commission extends its warmest wishes to all those celebrating Eid al-Adha, and recognises the important role faith, community and generosity play in strengthening our vibrant multicultural society.

Better care starts with listening, and this survey will identify barriers, improve access and deliver services that meet multicultural community needs.

This is all about making sure healthcare is free, safe and close to home, so it works better for every Victorian.

From access to interpreters and translated information to tackling discrimination in service delivery – the survey will drive change where it’s needed most.

Survey insights will be shared through a Listening Report later in the year.

This will help to guide future policy planning and the next Multicultural Health Action Plan.

The survey is available in 14 community languages including Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Vietnamese and Punjabi.

The survey is now open and closes on 31 May 2026.

The HW Club (Homework Club) recently visited Aireys Inlet beach for a rockpool discovery session with Ecologic.

Students and parents came together to explore the local coastline and learn about the natural treasures we’re so lucky to have in our region.

A big thank you to our guide, Andy Gray from Ecologic, for leading such a fantastic experience. It was incredible exploring the rockpools and discovering the diversity of ocean life. We found sea stars, fish, all kinds of algae, cuttlefish skeletons, and elephant snail shells tucked under rocks and in the seaweed.

Such a great day of learning, connection, and fun by the sea!

Thanks Ecologic!

Cultura is delighted to welcome Jess Harper as our new CEO, commencing 15 June 2026.

Jess is a Geelong local with deep leadership experience across disability, community and government sectors. He’s passionate about people, inclusion, quality and collaboration and he’s looking forward to getting out and about across our programs to meet our communities, staff and volunteers.

On his appointment as CEO, Jess said:
“I’m honoured and excited to be joining Cultura as CEO in just a few short weeks. Cultura’s values and purpose deeply resonate with me. I look forward to working alongside the team as we take Cultura into its next phase of growth, high-quality service delivery and connection with the communities we serve.”

A heartfelt thank you to our Interim CEO, Rebecca Smith, for her commitment and passion for continuously improving quality outcomes for clients over the past year, during a transition period since the departure of longstanding CEO, Joy Leggo OAM. Your leadership and care have been invaluable.
