Getting a flu shot? Ask your healthcare provider about also getting a measles vaccine at the same time.

It’s safe to get a measles booster at the same time as other vaccines, including your annual flu shot.

The flu (influenza), RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) and measles are currently circulating in the Victorian community. Find out more about these illnesses, and whether you should get vaccinated here:

🚭💙 World No To***co Day

This year’s theme is “Unmasking the appeal – countering ni****ne and to***co addiction.”

The campaign shines a light on how the to***co and ni****ne industry continues to repackage and market products to attract a new generation, particularly children and young people 👧🧑

It also raises awareness of evolving industry tactics, including synthetic ni****ne, ni****ne salts and other additives designed to increase addiction potential while appearing modern and innovative ⚠️

We support stronger protections for young people, including restrictions on flavours, advertising and promotion across digital and social media, and tighter regulation of packaging and product design 📵📦

A key focus is prevention—reducing addiction by empowering communities with knowledge, education and access to evidence-based quitting support 💪📚

💙 Support is available
The Ni****ne Management Service at Colac Area Health offers personalised one-on-one support to help you manage or stop smoking and/or va**ng.

What we offer:
• Individual sessions with a Ni****ne Management Specialist
• Tailored treatment options to suit your needs
• Support based on current research and best practice

National Reconciliation Week is recognised each year from 27 May to 3 June.🧡

The theme for 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

For too long, First Nations people have carried the weight of reconciliation. This week invites each of us to step forward together, sharing responsibility and taking meaningful action. Consider the actions—big or small—that you can take to contribute to a more respectful, inclusive, and equitable future.

The artwork for this years campaign is by renowned Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey, who applied his distinctive style to create a colourful and optimistic visual representation of people from all walks of life being ‘all in’ to make change.

National Sorry Day is observed annually on 26 May — a day to honour the strength and resilience of First Peoples and acknowledge the pain and injustices experienced by the Stolen Generations.

First held in 1998 following the Bringing Them Home report, the day encourages reflection, healing and reconciliation. The purple hibiscus is a symbol of the resilience and survival of the Stolen Generations. 💜

Today we recognise World Day for Cultural Diversity 🌍, observed globally on 21 May. This important day celebrates the richness of cultures around the world and highlights the role of intercultural dialogue in promoting peace 🤝, understanding and sustainable development.

Established by the United Nations in 2002, it reminds us of the importance of embracing diversity and fostering inclusion within our communities 🌏.

Victoria is proudly home to vibrant multicultural communities, with people speaking 290 languages 🗣️ and representing 314 different ancestries. This diversity is a defining strength of our state and central to our identity and way of life.

Cultural Diversity Week is a time to celebrate the stories, strength, influence and contributions of Victoria’s multicultural communities ✨, recognising that everyone has a place to belong, contribute and thrive 💛.

Today we are proudly acknowledging Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day) and showing our support for the incredible volunteers of the Victorian State Emergency Service (VICSES). 🧡🧡🧡

Held annually during National Volunteer Week, WOW Day recognises the dedication and commitment of SES volunteers who support communities across the state during storms, floods, rescues and other emergencies — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We thank all SES volunteers for the vital role they play in keeping our communities safe and for the care, courage and support they provide when it’s needed most. Our community is incredibly grateful for our local SES volunteers who work tirelessly, often in challenging and adverse conditions, to protect and support our community when help is needed most.
