Coimadai CFA would like to congratulate past Captain and incoming Captain Greg Hodges on receiving the National Medal.

The National Medal is Australia’s most awarded civilian honour, recognising long and diligent service by members of recognised government and voluntary organisations who risk their lives or safety to protect and assist the community—whether through law enforcement or during emergencies and natural disasters.

Strong teamwork on display at tonight’s joint training exercise with Coimadai CFA and Bacchus Marsh CFA.

Crews responded to a simulated “smoke showing from shed” incident, working through a breathing apparatus scenario focused on safe entry, fireground communication, search procedures and crew coordination.

These opportunities are invaluable for sharpening skills, building confidence and strengthening the working relationships between neighbouring brigades.

A big thank you to everyone involved for their time and effort. Training like this helps ensure we are ready when the real call comes.
