City of Coffs Harbour has approved additional rate relief for eligible pensioners in 2026/27, helping ease cost-of-living pressures for older residents across our community.

The voluntary rebates are expected to save eligible pensioners more than $110 on Environmental and Domestic Waste charges, in addition to existing mandatory rebates on rates, water and sewer charges.

The Aquatic Facilities Strategy has been updated following community consultation, with important changes now included in the final plan.

Over the next 15 years, the strategy will guide investment in aquatic facilities across Coffs Harbour, Woolgoolga, Sawtell and Orara Valley.

It also includes significant redevelopment and upgrades for facilities in Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga, subject to future funding and approvals.

How much do you know about NAIDOC Week? ❤️💛🖤

As we get ready to celebrate 50 Years of Deadly here in Coffs Harbour, here are five fast facts about NAIDOC Week. 👇

▪️ NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

▪️ NAIDOC Week grew from Aboriginal rights movements in the 1930s and has evolved into a nationwide celebration of culture, resilience and achievement.

▪️ NAIDOC stands for National Aboriginal and Islanders Day of Celebration.

▪️ Communities across Australia celebrate local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders, artists, athletes and changemakers during NAIDOC Week.

▪️ NAIDOC events are open to everyone - a chance to learn, connect and celebrate together.

Here in Coffs Harbour, we’ll come together on Gumbaynggirr Country for a full day of community celebrations at Yarrila Place on Monday 6 July.

Have your say on the Draft Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Strategy while connecting with local services and community at the Walkabout Barber Community Wellness and Outreach Initiative on 25 June 2026 at Coffs Harbour Showground.

This is a great opportunity to yarn with our team about the first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Strategy for our City and share your thoughts on the draft. The strategy reflects our commitment to reconciliation, respect, and renewal, and will help guide how we work with and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities into the future.

The event offers a culturally safe and welcoming space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to connect, access support services, and enjoy free haircuts and beauty services.

We’re excited to announce that Royston Noell will be performing live at the City of Coffs Harbour’s NAIDOC Week celebrations!

A proud Thanakwith and Wagadagam man and winner of Australian Idol 2023, Royston grew up in the remote community of Mapoon in Far North Queensland. His journey from Cape York to the national stage is one of resilience, determination and believing in what’s possible.

Inspired by music and driven by a passion for storytelling, Royston’s performances celebrate culture, hope and the power of following your dreams. His message is simple: no matter where you come from, with hard work and self-belief, anything is possible.

Don’t miss this special opportunity to see Royston perform as we celebrate 50 Years of NAIDOC with a day of culture, connection and community on Gumbaynggirr Country.
