Counting is complete..... and to my disbelief who would have thought my election outcome has been confirmed on the same day as Donald Trump being elected as the 47th President of United States.

However, that is where our comparisons end.

I would just like to start by saying a massive thankyou to all of you, my constituants for believing in me and backing me in to be your voice on council for Tandarook Ward for the next four years.

I am beyond grateful, I am humbled and I am very very proud.

I would like to thank Cath Jenkins for giving voters the opportunity to make a choice, and for the way in which she held herself throughout the whole process.

As leaders in our area, we are committed to continue to work together for the betterment of our community just as we have in the past.

The official declaration to become Councillor Elect will occur tomorrow afternoon with the oath of office set for Tuesday the 12th of November at 5pm.

WOW!!! What an incredible, fun filled, yet busy weekend just had amongst my community.
1. Friday night I was super excited to attend the Hampden Specialist School Presentation Ball. It was such an amazing evening where the heart smiled watching the 6 young couples be presented in front of their proud families and friends. Just perfect
2. With both local cricket, golf and bowls all playing out on Saturday (love this time of year), I got to check out the Community Fun Day in the Ritchies carpark. Shoutout to Ritchies Cobden IGA for putting on the 2nd year running FREE event
3. I dropped by the Cobden & District Orchid Club’s Annual Orchid Show. Every year I swear the stunning orchid displays and varieties are getting more and more stunning.
4. And finally the sun shone brightly as 100’s of people got along to help celebrate the 30th birthday of the Cobden Miniature Railway Park.
Such a wonderful community asset we have on our doorstep that attracts people, young and old, from across the regions. Our local volunteers work tirelessly to provide all the visitors with special lasting memories as we all get to continually enjoy the efforts of the visionary locals 30 years ago.
We really are just so lucky, and it was wonderful to see all the happy smiling faces enjoying their time.

A ballot pack for the council elections should now be in your letterbox or on its way!

More than six million people will vote this election and decide who will fill the 646 council vacancies in 466 separate elections.

By voting for the values and ideas that you think will best represent your area, you can help shape the future.

Voters should complete and return their ballot material as soon as they receive it.

Here are some dates to remember:
📆 25 October – Completed ballot papers must be sent to the VEC before 6pm.
📆 26 October – Election day: although technically no voting takes place on this date but the counting begins.
📅 November – Results announced.

I look forward to seeing a big crowd of people from the communtiy in our Tandarook Ward out supporting the 'Music On The Hill' this afternoon..

This is an important fundraiser for the Hall upgrades and it is always a great day out.

So rug up, pack your camp chairs and your picnic baskets and get on out to the Red Hill Hall with the live music from 12pm thru 5pm.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Matt Henderson at Star Printing for getting our flyers done in such a quick turnaround.

Matt does so much for us in the Corangamite Shire and recently supplied all the certificates for the Victoria Police - Blue Ribbon Spirit of Sport awards we presented at the Cobden Football Netball Club and the Simpson Tigers.
